You mentioned it before, bucko. And my advice still stands. Or at least give her a warning bar/tell her to grow a set/RKO her. Oh man I totally forgot. The brain ain't what it used to be and it was never all that to begin with. I’ll have to issue you an unofficial 25% warning bar for being a silly goose. If you want it removed, take it up with JC Motors in a month.

Pretty much nothing fun about owning a home. It's just a constant state of crap breaking and then treading water until the next incident. I had a dishwasher leak in February, wreck part of the kitchen floor, and when they went to put a new floor in they found asbestos so that had to get removed. That took over a month from start to finish, forcing us to move out and live at my parents for 2 weeks. We found out the dishwasher was leaking when we went to turn it on and the electricity to the kitchen went out. Instead of just tripping, it did what was called "arching electricity" where it keeps trying to complete a circuit until your breaker just fries, so we had to have part of the electrical panel in the basement fixed (at 8pm at night with it basically burning, lol). It's really lucky my wife is friends with a woman who's husband is an electrician. While disconnecting the old dishwasher to put in the new one, we found out (when the water wouldn't stop shooting out, lol) that the shutoff valve for that pipe had gone, so we needed to get that fixed. At the same time all this was going on, the drain pipe to the washing machine somehow got a crack in (pouring onto the basement floor) it so we needed to have that replaced, and we are in a never endless battle to try and get one of our toilets to stop leaking. Various parts of my house have been basically falling apart for the last 5 months, lol. And two weeks ago while driving to work, my water pump exploded and my engine overheated and I pretty much cruised into work with my engine almost on fire. Owning a house suuuuuuuuuuuuuuucks. Being an adult pretty much sucks. So true. I bought this house in June 1999. I've had two roofs done since, have a porch roof which collapsed and had to be rebuilt and reinforced, plumbing issues and numerous other things throughout the years and we still need a ton of other things done. It never ends.

My wife and I were in a similar situation last summer. Our stove died a month before we were moving out and had to replace it, knowing full well we weren’t taking it to our new home. We had the same issue with the gas line not connecting and needed to get that replaced.
Then, we bought a new house in May, and by August, we had to replace the fridge, washing machine, AC, and hot water tank. All of which were looked at by 2 inspectors and said everything looked good. I was pretty sure my wife was going to have a total meltdown, but we survived.
I’ll share with you what I told her. House expenses are bound to happen, but we aren’t living in the street and we are all healthy. I’ll take the headache of a busted AC during a Midwest summer over a hospital visit with one of our kids. As I get older, I find myself trying to downplay life’s headaches. Sure, they will bother me to an extent. But I try to remember there are people who are dealing with far worse, and it softens the blow. Hope everything works out!

That sucks. We are having a stove/oven issue as well. About a week or so ago my wife went to make dinner and she turned on the left front burner but the back right one turned on as well and wouldn’t shut off. So I pulled the stove out to unplug it and there’s no plug the cord actually goes into the wall and is attached to the circuit panel. I ended up turning that off and we’ve been without a stove/oven since then. Not sure if we’ll just repair it or get a new one because it’s about 20 years old now as well. We did get a new refrigerator last summer because the old one gave out that was also purchased when we bought the stove.

My old one had a plug to the wall underneath which I had to open the top of the stove to unplug. It was the only way to stop the clicking of the igniters.
