Holy Hell this segment is brutal Hard disagree, that was great. Crowd sucked with the god awful what chants but that segment hit a home run for me. |

Man talk about a tale of two episodes.
Came in pumped for the wild cards then Johnny Botch shows up. I popped at first thinking it was Gargano even though I knew basically 99% that it wasn't going to be him. Then The crappy Johnny comes out, hits the worst 450 I've ever seen in my life, and thankfully loses, hopefully to never be seen from again. Call it my bottom five AEW moments ever lol. If you're a fan then that's awesome, and I hope you enjoyed it, but that was not for me at all.
Then we switch into high gear, freaking great match between Hangman and Takes-hita, fun quick lil Swerve/Lee tag match, great Wardawg segment. KOR/Fenix tore the goddamn house down.
Itoh Chan returns! I was almost positive it was going to be her, then I panicked thinking it was going to be Taya. So relieved it was actually Itoh. She's in the states for a few months so hopefully we can get some more matches out of her. On that note, Mayu Freaking Iwatani currently holds Stardom's belt that can only be defended against people not of your own nationality, so please bring her over for a couple defenses.
I loved the Deeb promo, thought it accomplished a couple awesome things. Literally called out the entire culture of talking crapbehind a screen (much like I just did to Johnny FartGremlin lol), and then backing down when confronted with what you've said. Took a plug at how hard the women have had to work to be taken seriously. (Lets be real, if a women botched the 450 like Johnny did, half this forum would still be complaining about it, and half the internet would). Which also works for the Rosa feud, because Rosa keeps talking about how hard she's endured to make women's wrestling better, but she's only like 7 years in compared to Deeb's like 20.
Then.... the main event.
Oof. They were out of time, had to rush like crazy, and that match flat out stunk.
So, if I ignore the beginning and ending matches, pretty damn good dynamite. If I only consider the beginning and ending and ignore the middle, maybe the worst one ever lol. Weird week. Production was off all night too.

Big fan of Joe, Cole and Kyle but the mens Owen tournament hasn’t lived up to the hype for me personally. The one match that did was a qualifiers
The womens has been fine. Feels like Toni is the obvious winner. At least I hope so. Britt winning would be meh as hell.

All of us when we saw "Johnny" flash on screen but it was John Morrison instead.  Hangman vs. Takeshita and KOR vs. Fenix were awesome, Itoh showed up, and Deeb did Deeb things. I'm happy with how this episode turned out for the most part, but I feel for anyone who was really looking forward to Cole vs. Hardy seeing as how it was like 7 minutes and 3 of them were PIP. The downside to booking so much. |

Mixed bag of an episode.
Joe Vs. Johnny was decent besides that 450.
Hangman Vs. Konosuke was great.
Cool little squash for Keith/Swerve. Triple Threat at DoN is gonna be good. (Surprised they booked another 3-Way, we just had one at Revolution.)
O'Reilly Vs. Fenix was sick. Love how O'Reilly turned the armbar into a legbar combo.
I liked Britt Baker Vs. Itoh, but I just wish we can have other women be booked well besides her.
Deeb promo segment was ok I guess.
Cole Vs. Hardy was bad, only because they ran out of time.
I really want O'Reilly to win, but I think it's gonna end up being Joe Vs. Cole and Hardys/Sting/Darby Vs. Bucks/ReDragon. We'll get Bucks Vs. Hardys at All Out.
