Searched for threads related to this, but none of the ones I found had the answer to this question. Apologies if I missed it somewhere. Has there been any official word on if Jazwares can make "Surfer" Sting and WCW-era "Crow" Sting? Thanks in advance

I don’t think they can make anything based on attires owned by WWE
maybe they can get away with a New Japan look

What they can do and what they're willing to do may not be the same thing. We'll see - I wouldn't be shocked if we see a Surfer Sting in the reveals later this month.

I’ve gotten the impression that they don’t want to try rocking the boat and aren’t even going to attempt to make anything from WWE owned IP

There was a "basic" figure, but not sure where that look was from.

I completely forgot about the US attire so it's the basic looking surfer Sting I was thinking about

I remember this conversation with Jakks & TNA. Im pretty sure they could only make pre 1993 attires for Sting. It was something really random like that because there was a bunch of us trying to figure it out....

I had thought Sting owns his own rights, but I could be wrong. TNA made retro look figures of him, and AEW already made those little micro brawler (or whatever they are called) versions of him with the retro look.

Yeah they made micro brawlers and they had the AEW packaging, so they can make some Surfer Stings for sure

I’m pretty sure they can. At this point I’m sure that the average person probably wouldn’t be able to distinguish Sting’s looks from ‘97-99. That’s basically what I want. A ‘98 Sting with hair past his shoulders, tall accurate boots, padded shoulder singlet and a torso that actually looks proportionate to his legs. From what I can remember Jeremy posted a poll asking what Sting eras we wanted. In that poll were surfer, ‘97 Starrcade, Wolfpac and I can’t remember the rest. I don’t think he’d be putting that up for no reason. What they can’t probably do is include any of the nWo logos on his Wolfpac gear.

I haven't bought any aew figures yet but id be on board right away if they made some old Stings!
I'd just hope they don't make a great figure a 1 in 3000 or 5000!

As long as it’s not from a WWE-owned IP should be fine. They could always make a “generic” version of surfer and crow sting that’s close enough to the classic looks we love.
With AEW’s relationship with Impact, I’m curious if we’d be able to get some TNA looks from Sting. His early appearances with the promotion are close enough to his “crow” WCW look.

If they can do the all the figures from the poll then that would be fantastic

Not sure how Sting attires work. I guess as long as it didn't appear at an event that's currently owned by WWE, I guess it's OK?

Not sure if it’s even in the realm of possibility, but I’d buy a Bound For Glory 2006 Sting in a heartbeat.
