He also said in the same podcast that Reigns elite 88 is highest selling Mattel figure ever and said you can't find it anywhere and I happily pointed out RSC had him for 19.99 lol Not defending Billi's credibility at all. But, the Reigns figure from that series is no longer available on RSC's website. The only figure from that set.

And is still available at multiple other outlets. To say it's the highest selling figure ever is absurdity.

And.....it's amazing that the one guy that sold out of that set on RSC is Roman Reigns. I mean Kushida is a first in the line figure and looks awesome. Roman Reigns has so many figures out already, he should never sell. It's just absurd. The notion that it's the highest selling figure is way more absurd.

Maybe the distribution fell into place perfectly. But, for some reason, it sold really well!

You can look at the piecemeal AEW figures for sale on here by series. Doesn't mean they were the 'highest selling figure ever'. Action Figure Attack is free to correct me, but they don't disclose that information externally, typically. And certainly not to Billi Bhatti, of all people. The fact that anyone is actually lending any credence to this is just...phew...mind-boggling.

Why does everything end up AEW vs WWE??? Can there be even 1 post on the entire internet that doesn't turn into AEW vs WWE? 🤦♂️ In this case, Mattel WWE and Jazwares AEW are direct competition to each other.

Not necessarily directly in all instances Jazwares don’t have a kid friendly budget line (I.e. basics, top picks etc) at the £10.00 mark Imo that’s the biggest omission. They have a budget ring (along with a real scale) yet no kid friendly line. Get us a basic £10 line and my lads 4 aew figs (luchasaurus, penta, jungle boy and Cody) would be closer to 10/12

The initial cost of setting up the line would be quite a hit this early in the AEW toyline. New parts and packaging would need to be designed. Then trying to get the shelf space. They would have to convince stores to carry a third AEW line, which might be hard. In my opinion, I think Jazwares is happier selling 4 figures of the current lines than selling 12 of a new kids friendly line.

But just to underscore it, it doesn't really matter what Jazwares wants. If there's no retailer interest, it's a non-starter. There's only so much peg space, and wrestling section already has a sizable footprint.

Even if the line was in financial trouble, the first Owen Hart figure in over 20 years is going to change that.

I think you're overestimating Owen's appeal to a more casual consumer, even more so little kids asking their parents for wrestling figures. The hardcore collectors that have been dying for a new Owen figure are a very small percentage of buyers.

Yet they can find space for two sizeable playsets A kid friendly line would be attractive for retail to pick up more casual buyers along with collectors and implulse buyers etc. I’ve literally stood in smyths myself thinking I’m not going to pay what the figures cost until they’re inevitably reduced which so far pretty much every aew figure has been whereas they basics (which are pretty crappy) fly off the shelves

It would probably help if they could get their best figures like Luchasaurus, the Darby with skateboard and belt, Gold Pentagon and Evil Uno on amazon. Makes no sense why they aren't trying to sell this line better on there.

Not that hard of a concept to grasp if you stick your head outside of the wrestling bubble and into the real world. Hardcore collectors are a very small percentage of the customer base for products.
