Has anyone ever participated in this? I see they sometimes sell Hasbros and things with a $1 minimum bid -- how much do those actual go for? Can you get a deal on these?

I’ve watched footage but never taken part. It’s a brilliant idea but you have to have good timing/luck with people not showing up or uninterested in the item you want. This will still probably go for thousands.

Whatnot is becoming more popular everyday, with more bigger YouTube people getting involved. Just like any auction it all depends who's there and how bad those people wants something but more importantly with Whatnot is who's doing the auction.
I collect Funko Pops,I've seen the same Pop that many people dosent know the guy having the auction go for $25-$30 compared to a bigger Pop YouTuber fetch close to $100.

Interesting. It’s hard for me to know how big or small it is having never used it. One thing that kind of irritates me when listening to the Major pod is how they talk about getting something for next to nothing and then they’ll flip it on WhatNot essentially making it sound like “some idiot on there will but it!” They don’t use those words but they act surprised when things don’t sell for what they thought they would. It’ doesn’t irritate me that they are trying to make money…its just that they are exposing how flawed the platform is. Either you have to be a big deal as a seller or you have to be a seller who takes advantage of their subscribers. It isn’t all bad; no one is forcing anyone to do anything on either side. But there is this intangible Home Shopping Network/used care salesman quality that I don’t care for.

Nothing from the Major Pod’s auctions goes for a deal. They have so many followers than even common stuff goes for 2x-3x what it normally would just because those guys owned it.
For example, Swoggle sold a damaged card set of Major Bendies for $200. Those are $100 on the Major Merch store.

Thanks for letting me know -- I thought about tuning in to maybe get a deal. Now i know better. I wonder what Undertaker will go for!

That's exactly what's happened to about every "bigger" YouTuber auctions I've been apart of. I've got some great deals on stuff from people that's not a big deal on social media but I could only imagine how many people shows up to their auctions. I don't know if its already happened or not but I know Ethan Page supposed to had a auction towards the end of the month selling some of his collection. I loved Whatnot when they first started(they mostly only sold Funko and Pokemon with a little sports cards) but its getting pretty big now and people goes a little insane when they like the person having the auction.

You might be able to get some decent prices from other sellers. I've got okay deals here and there. But I also notice a lot of the same buyers in every auction, and also notice dealers buying from each other. Hell, the Major Pod shout out stuff they're buying in their vlogs now just for the purpose of reselling on Whatnot. Good for them making a buck, bad for collectors as it drives prices up.

I know it’s a live auction app but can’t you see past sold things like eBay?

I know it’s a live auction app but can’t you see past sold things like eBay? If the option to review results of completed shows is in there, I haven't been able to find it. I think a stream just ends and it goes away, like I don't see archives anywhere.

I admittedly don't know much about auction sites and etc. but everything about Whatnot seems weird and borderline sketchy to me.

I've bought stuff on Whatnot and never had any issues there. The app is very low feature/low budget. It's already flooded with sellers so I figure it'll be another fad that passes.

I'm glad to here that. I probably shouldn't have used the word "sketchy" as that implies a scam, which isn't really what I meant. Maybe janky would be a better word?

Either term is fair. A new marketplace being pushed by online celebs who are being paid to do so should be looked at with scrutiny.

Watch for sellers that's not big on social media and you can get some great deals on stuff but tbh I haven't watched much wrestling stuff. So I don't really know much about any of them. I've gotten really good deals late at night on stuff from lesser known people and like said above never had any issues getting any of my stuff. The guys that runs the site are great guys from what I've seen,so if anything ever comes up get in touch with them and I can almost guarantee that will get it fixed.

I think a stream just ends and it goes away, like I don't see archives anywhere. Oh wow. That’s a shame. Be good to be able to re-watch or at least see sales figures even if you can’t rewatch
