The earlier chases looked good, but the newer ones are objectively worse in some cases. Take the "chase" Painmaker Jericho. It's absolutely horrible when compared to the regular release. I hate the idea of chase figures to begin with as it immediately locks out the vast majority of collectors. It's a dumb idea and just promotes further scalping. Jazwares makes the same profit off of a chase or non-chase regardless so from an optics point of view it looks like they are purposely price gouging their fanbase.
Luckily all my figures are loose except for my extra Wave 1A, extra LJNs and extra Luminaries, so some chases like the wave 1 Jericho, I can literally make with just parts swapping from Jerichos I already own.

I don’t mind them. Been lucky to find a few but it doesn’t help only having one Walmart around. Would be nice to have a more fair chance at getting them.

Crap. Crap Crap Crap.
Jazwares isn't earning any more money by making these chases impossible to come by but they are handing scalpers a fortune while screwing over honest collectors. I don't care about the thrill of the chase. The thrill is having the figures I want on my shelf without me having to break the bank to get them or feel guilty about opening them if I do.
Such utter utter crap.

Chases that are so limited make collecting AEW figures not as much fun as Mattel. I'm a completionist for the era I collect and it would cost me a fortune to catch up at this point...

Pointless to have them in alternate attires why not just make them in a store exclusive line between Walmart/target if that's the case.
then make the actual chase/rare have diecast championship belts and some kind of autograph either somewhere inside the box or just include a card that's signed with a limited stamp numbered on the figures leg.

The only chase I want is the Series 6 Jericho. I was at the show he sported that look at, and I'm a sucker for things like that. I'd settle for getting my mitts on the coat, and buying the accessory pack to fill out the rest.

I'm surprised series 5 chases are still available at retail, actually, I'm surprised Walmart is still getting in new cases of series 5. I found the Mox today on the top shelf behind a Hangman and some Pig figures. I had to use a long toy box to knock him down.

If I found some of them, I'd be a big fan.
