Where I live? Chippewa Falls/Eau Claire area. Small world. I’m roughly 30 minutes west of you near Menomonie.

I grew up in Denver, and the AWA was pretty big here too. I went to lots of their Friday night shows at the Auditorium Arena with my dad. Watched their TV show every Sunday morning with my Grandma. Good times.
I'd love figures of lots of the wrestlers from the AWA. Verne Gagne, Bruiser Brody, and Stan Hansen are a great start!
Figures of Nick Bockwinkel, Greg Gagne, Jim Brunzell, Jerry Blackwell, The Vahons, Baron Von Raschke, The Blackjacks, The Fabulous Ones would be awesome! I could go on and on.

Lately? Im there once or twice a week. They have sucked since I moved here. The only thing I have ever managed to grab there were the Ghostbusters/WWE set. They never carried in AEW figures - just the ring, belt, and UFC figures. The WWE figures seem to warm the pegs almost untouched until they cycle out the inventory. I wish I collected modern WWE retail lines because I would have no problem finding them there.

Cards, sticker books at a push and comics. Then what? I wouldn’t call biographies a collector category but even if we do there’s 4. What’s the other 1 or 2? Ornamental Crockery since most who watched these are 70/80 if not older? Exclusive deals? So DDP has signed away having any more merch from wwe? Likewise bobby heenan. If the do say T-shirt’s what’s the design going to be? These guys are from days before logos, catchphrases etc and most looked 50 when they were in their 20s. Who wants a T-shirt of balding hairy blokes in pants? We know Andre and macho don’t do exclusive deals as they continually have figures and merch from half a dozen people - but they’ve forfeited potential wwe, indie, wwe associated (funko etc) to just be exclusive to these guys?

I'd say no way in Hell a lot of these deals are exclusive. Andre has figures in the works with like 5 different companies, for example.

Already missed the date for announcing pre-orders and price point. Today is the 18th. A deal with Billy Corgan? Figures of current NWA stars would be awesome! I'm still really looking forward to these figures. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Concept here is great, but wow of that update they’ve already missed the announcement date of price point and preorder info.
Not a great start.
Also, I don’t think they have a clue about”exclusive” contracts. Andre, heenan, Savage estates wouldn’t have signed their rights away, not by a long shot. Nor would Page have either.

I'm very curious who the "really, really major name" is they are talking about signing. Same here. Maybe someone like Ric Flair? I dunno. Could honestly be anyone from the last 40+ years.

It's a "really, really major" name nobody has done. So take major with a grain of salt - it can be a big name in wrestling history without being a huge name from a marketing standpoint. I'm guessing maybe Buddy Rogers or Pedro Morales. I still want to see some concrete details on price and timeline. But I think some figures will eventually see the light of day. The Vern Gagne bedsheets? Probably not so much.

I'd love to flesh out my Elite old-timers section with Gagne, Thesz, etc. That being said...the Kickstarter was going to be live in July. Then it was going to be announced last week. We've already seen deals falls through (Dibiase) that are cause for concern. This is the epitome of overpromising and underdelivering. Just freakin' do SOMETHING to make this line a reality instead of a concept.

Just freakin' do SOMETHING to make this line a reality instead of a concept. This has been the issue from day 1 with all these Indie lines It’s not just r Pugh to get out a great figure or figures They need to be “the best most accurate” or there’s loads of variants, or they want to be “more than a toy line” and expand into mythical other areas Just concentrate on getting out solid figures on time and make realistic timescales you keep to

I was actually thinking about Buddy Rogers too. Trying to remember who hasn't had a Mattel or Jakks figure, Rogers, Morales, and Dory Funk Jr. come to mind.
