Does anyone else feel the Mattel/Jaz articulation in some spots is really lacking? I'm noticing it more with the female wrestlers, the guys are more or less capable of bending at the hips and less so the midsection to be standing bent over, but Shida and Nyla rose don't have a lot of range of motion in the midsection especially compared to the Jakks DA ab joint, and there's not a lot of movement in the hips as far as raising a leg straight out without it going out to the side.
Feels like the range of motion is being sacrificed in exchange for the figs being easier to take apart and customize, or maybe it's just the designs themselves are flawed. I'm a Jakks guy first and foremost so I may be biased but to me its pretty blatant.

To be fair, the WWE Mattel womens figures also have pretty rubbish ab joint range of motion, And, if you're into them, so do most ML women.
The only women's figures I own that *do* have decent ab articulation are the few TNA Knockouts figures I own and that's because they have the current Mens Elite style joint.
The nested ab crunch will never have the range of motion a straight hinge-joint will. That's across the dang board. It's not so much a Jazwares thing though as what seems to be an entire style shift away from the hinged joints. Personally, I think we're lucky that most of the Mens Elites still have the hinged torsos. Yeah, it sucks for AEW and other collectors, but I wouldn't call that issue strictly a Jazwares problem.
ETA: I do see you mentioned Mattel as well. Like I said, it isn't even limited to wrestling figures. Marvel Legends have this issue as well. and out of the two or three rare non-Marvel/wrestling figures I own with ab joints, they do too. I really think that the DA style figures were unique for the women and that no other line (that I know of) has done that for the women's figures.

I pop the legs off and dremel around the crotch piece. Ive essentially ruined their value for the sake of playability, but im okay with that. It makes No sense why theyre like it tho. I talked to magic about it before. Apparently its a combo of articulation and esthetics. But it blows. Sammy/Stu are probably the only ones i havent dremeled.

wrestling figures in general has always felt wonky compared to other figures in the same price point in terms of articulation. with that being said tho, these are the only the only kinds of wrestling figures we get so whatever they put out, i’m happy with it even if it’s disappointing at times. i wish storm, mafex, or figma were able to make wrestling figures (outside of the hogan and liger for storm)
