Surprised by the comments here so far. I saw a ton of improvements over previous waves. Everything looked really good to me in person. Definitely top wrestling figure line contender. Maybe videos will help!
Also handled some of these and they're great up close. Hoping some folks change their minds.

I don’t think Christian is as bad as people have said. Most everything else is pretty impressive IMO. I’m very excited for these future waves.

There was a ton of corner cutting after Unrivaled 4 and it feels like we had to kick and scream to make them stop. That plus not having the longevity to justify a track record and trust level to know if Christian and Kingston are just badly painted prototypes or final product, it leaves us not knowing what we’re really going to get. If everything looks cartoony because it was rushed hand samples to have them ready for the show that’s fine but we don’t know if that’s the reason or not. I say all this as someone who enjoyed the showing.

One of those Punks should've been Rampage debut in street clothes.

I'm pretty new to AEW and this figure line, but many of the faces look off to me? Cody doesn't look like Cody, that young Chris Jericho doesn't look much like Jericho, and is that really what Taz looks like now? On the plus side, Punk looks pretty good, and Christian look decent to me as well. Brodie looks good too.

Yikes. Those Punks look rough. They shouldn't have used the Sammy body for him, he's much bigger than Sammy.
Those legs on the regular version look horrible.

Wow! Some of these are…really really bad.
At least I can finally get the Miro that I’ve been waiting for. Black looks awesome…wish I could see the face.
Those Punks are terrible, the Tazz is terrible, the Brian Cage is terrible, the Kingston is terrible, the Wardlow is in an off-attire, and the Bakers are also not great. I like the street clothes figs, and Brodie and negative one is probably one of the greatest two packs in wrestling figure history. The blue Rosa is weird but I like the black one. Jade is ok. I’ll definitely buy:
Brodie Lee and Negative One. Miro Black Rosa Jade possibly the Codys.

I'm the opposite -- I think Jazzwares has done a great job until now. But almost all of these figures besides Thunder Rosa, Jade, and a few others seem really worse than almost all of the figures released thus far with the exception of some like Riho, etc.

One of those Punks should've been Rampage debut in street clothes. I would be shocked if that isn't released as a RSCE in the future. Any shots of Black without the headdress? I really like that. I like most of what I see, but Kingston.. oof.

Outside of Eddie Kingston, all of these looked decent to great IMO. Though it's kinda weird that they didn't reveal any new Sting figures.

"pUnKs lEGs aRe ToO tHiN" as if he's not watching on chicken legs in real life? Punk has some of the thinnest legs in wrestling. So does Cassidy.
Then you have Taz that "doesn't like Taz" yeah maybe doesn't look like his ECW or WWE days, but it definitely looks like the wrinkly headed shriveled up old man that he is today. Throw the shades and jacket on, it's Taz. These people are aging.
Can't ask for real life likeness then get mad when they make figures with the same flaws as the people they're based off of. Not every wrestler has tree trunk thighs and a six pack. Some are fat and some have chicken legs. I love it. That Christian face looks aged by about an extra 20 years lmao I knew he'd have the orange Jersey Shore tan but I didn't know he turned 70 already.

This is sort of where I'm at. The line has been great in my eyes, even with some of the issues with skin tones. I was pretty pleased with every figure up until FTR and those super cartoony looking heads. I hoped that was a one off situation, but yesterday's reveals look to be more in that vein. And they came out with some super quality soft goods, but have since switched to a lot of the same clunky rubber coats and jackets that Mattel has frustrated us with for years. Obviously the line has done well, and there are going to be some tradeoffs that come with increasing volume probably far faster than they imagined. I hoped they would grow their parts library some to get a move diverse selection of arms, torsos, etc. Maybe that's just a design choice, but seeing the arms on a guy who is literally comic book style ripped like Brian Cage is disappointing. For me, the majority of the figures shown are a step back from where the line was through the first 7-8 releases. Maybe the videos will show a different perspective, or there can still be improvements before the final product. But what started as one or two figures seems to be becoming a trend, and I don't think it's going in a direction that a lot of collectors want.

I want to love this line, but there are so many instances of "one step forward, two steps back". Things like joints feeling worse over time, questionable part choices, and the most frustrating of all, sub par headscans.
Screaming headscans being the only option available, ala the first Miro, Lance Archer, and now Brian Cage. As far as I'm concerned, they should be an option but never the default. It's enough that it'll completely ruin a figure for me and I find myself often having to wait for future releases.
On the plus side, I did absolutely love some of the things that were shown, namely the Supreme Cody, Kenny and Black. Those are easily three of the greatest wrestling figures I've ever seen and I can't to try and track them down.

These dont come out until August. I'd expect some changes for the final product.
I'm still excited for these to be in my collection

Though I don't think the scans are sub-par, per se. But the choice of which head to include is. There have been a few situations where they used a better scan exclusively with the chase figure (Rosa and Riho come to mind) which including the lesser scan on the figure that's available at mass market. I totally get the goal of having more expressive figures. Yelling scans are tough to nail for Mattel too, so I don't think it's purely a case of inferior scans. But they really need to default to the one that looks the best, and then either use alternate versions as a second head or on the chase versions.

Maybe videos will help! Also handled some of these and they're great up close. Hoping some folks change their minds. Unless they’re gonna be fixed there’s a lot of bad head sculpts/paint apps. Also not happy Jeremy wants these chases to like his super duper rare Pokémon cards or whatever. Why do the better figures have to be chases? WWE has the right idea not labeling them. You know what sucks? Hot wheels collecting or Funko collecting because the treasure hunts and chases are labeled. Don’t even have to know to know. Some employee could buy them up and re sell them them selves. Doesn’t help the collector any, and does Jazwares get the 3rd party money? No. Just pisses off people that just want to buy a $20 piece of plastic. Not some holy grail/chase/treasure hunt. Quit trying to make these “valuable” and just make them available… Really tired of people wanting their friggin toys to be like some great investment. Go buy gold. Go buy silver. Edit: just realized the “normal” Thunder Rosa doesn’t even have paint on the correct side of her face…thanks jakkswares…. Also they used the chase attire for the regular preorder image. Very misleading.

I don't really follow AEW so many of the characters are lost on me. I've seen Punk's stuff, though, and I think that figure's headscan is actually really, really good. It looks great. Not sure what the issue is there.
I do see the issue with the legs though. They look alright on the trunks version, but when they're painted black (and kneepads removed) they look unnaturally skinny. Overall still a great figure, though. Pepsi logo appearing is surprising.
