I think every talent can have a bad day, but when you start to hear a pattern -- it's probably true...

Man, I'd love to have a Stan Hansen in Mattel scale, he's on my 10 most wanted list

Interested to see where they go package wise with these since they’re a nice mix of new and old. I’d like to see more companies go more for a box (storm style) than a card and bubble.

If chella doesn’t have their elite style figures in boxes I’ll be kinda disappointed

I'd get Hansen and DiBiase. My Mattel Magnum is good enough and not sure how Thesz or Verne would fit into the rest of my collection, 99% of which is mid-80s to present day. What era dibiase is this? He debuted early/mid 70s I think and he looks young here so I’m guessing this is a 70s dibiase? His All Japan look circa 1985-1986 before he went back to the WWF as the Million Dollar Man

Ted used to have a documentary on the WWE network but I’m not sure if it’s on Peacock yet. I believe he has a film about from around 7 years ago but I never saw it (I could be misremembering). His book was short and a little dry for my taste. The entire story behind the Million Dollar Man character is tremendous from its conception all the way through its execution. The better parts of his pre-WWF career were in the Mid South wrestling territory. He was pretty over there. He was also involved in one of the most convoluted match types you will ever hear/see: Coal Miner’s Glove Steel Cage Tuxedo Loser Leaves Town Match. His opponent by the way was Jim Duggan. I really didn’t enjoy his book, meeting him he was quite flat personality wise too. I think the gimmick was what got him over rather than Personality. Most wrestler meet and greets I’ve gone to with my kids and I judge the wrestlers by how they act with them - Bret, Billy gun, tatanka, hurricane, mark Henry, Jimmy hart were all really good. Booker t was a stand out snd really really cool and nasty boys were brilliant. Nastys took time to ask what their favourite nasty boys match was (v hart foundation) and told them some of their stories about wrestling the foundation etc. JJ and million dollar man both disappointing and both very dismissive and bored, didn’t want to be there etc was the overall impression Cody was especially cool - as it was over 18s I told him my kids were a bit disappointed they couldn’t come so he asked me to hang about after the meet and greet and then recorded a 3 min or so video on my phone for them which I could show them after which was super cool. Addresses them by their names and everything. Dustin was also great at a panel he did after he stayed behind to shake hands and thank everyone in the audience personally for coming. Bruce prichard was also really great the couple of times I met him and JR too for that matter My sons favourite was shinsuke at one time and we met him at a vip live event, my son was only about 5 at the time snd the vip coordinator asked who his favourite was and he said shinsuke so she brought him out so my lad could meet him and have a picture etc along with Jeff snd Charlotte who were there for the vip q&a and meet and greet Oh one last story about meeting wrestlers - when I met bully Ray at a TNA event he wouldn’t sign until I could name 5 misfits songs (since I was wearing one of their beanies) 😆 Sorry to hear about this type of experience with Ted. Met him at Starrcast in 2019, and he was amazing. I brought the program to the Tokyo Dome show in 1990 when he fought Ultimate Warrior for the WWF title, right after Warrior beat Hogan for the title. Ted loved talking about that event when I showed him the program, and said it was a bad move on Vince or whoever booked the event to put him in as a heel vs Warrior, since the Japanese fans had fond memories of his team with Hansen. Fans at that show were laughing at Warrior and yelling the word "Ega" (fake) every time Warrior did a punch or kick or move

I do love the image of all the streamers etc they do when people come to the ring for big matches, really gives it a sense of occasion

Maybe at the beginning of a match, but a compelling match will leave the crowd in a frenzy (except for right now, where you can't yell, only clap, because of COVID-19 restrictions). They're usually quiet out of respect for the performers. It's understood as a fan that you're to watch the performance intently, without distraction, as a sign of respect. But some early 1990s (or even 1980s) All Japan and mid-1990s (or even mid-2010s) New Japan had some of the loudest crowd reactions I've ever heard. Tons of examples out there with great matches that get people really worked up. Love the streamers as well!

Some Japanese audiences are a bit more quiet and attentive, but some are a bit more wild. FMW crowds were the latter.

Hope the bit about Hannibal the Blood Hunter getting a figure was a joke. If this line remains a Kickstarter, that would be extremely off putting to me if I'm forced to buy a modern era wrestler in order to get the older era wrestlers I want. If they put these indie guys and modern wrestlers on a different optional tier, I wouldn't care as much.

The fact that he is a modern era wrestler isn't what's worrysome about anyone deciding to make a figure of that guy.

Powertown is a work. They do not pay their talent up-front licensing fees. They're trying to lock wrestlers in to exclusive deals with no timeframe. The person making the renders already quit (I'm assuming he didn't like working for free or promise of future commissions).

They said everyone signed to them is exclusive and loads more. I know not everyone on here is a fan of the majors but I’d suggest at least having a listen to their coverage the past couple of weeks on this line

I think it's too early for me to know what to expect. I will just be optimistic that this will be presented on the Kickstarter with at least finished painted prototypes.

MWFP really ran these guys down this week. Some of it was amusing…some of it really seems unethical. Long story short, they received a copy of one of the contracts and made it sound as if the agreements were all-encompassing and completely exclusive with no end date to the contract. Smart as a business but also completely unethical when dealing with people who are in charge of the estate of a loved one who passed or someone who might be in poor health. It’s true what they say - never sign something without an attorney.

The idea behind this line is helping those from the territory days who don’t get their dues etc now
I wonder if the line is successful (and that’s a big if!) will we see some of the guys who didn’t move onto bigger things / or not currently under contract in their stampede style
I’m thinking dynamite since wwe don’t seem to have interest and we know his estate is open to licensing, bad news, hito, Sakurada, ox baker, Archie Gouldie etc
