I was hoping for Remco style figs but those heads seem to suggest otherwise. Maybe with some names attached these will have more success on kickstarter than the line with the generic refs, security, etc.

That’s an awful negative position to take for someone who’s anti negativity. You see the difference is I explain my criticism, you just put a disrespectful lol up. I would also ask is this More of a crap storm than a ‘pre order’ which is essentially “crowdfunding” because your not putting the figures into production until after you have the funds from the pre order. Crowdfunding by any other name is still crowdfunding Also when the two biggest toy companies in the world regularly run crowdfunding campaigns I think it’s an acceptable model Why are you following me and constantly looking for a “gotcha” moment? Your behavior is consistent with someone who obsesses over things and that isn’t always healthy my friend. If you want you can message me and I can try to help you. It’s a shame you decided to view that as being a negative or disrespectful comment. Not everyone approaches things with that attitude and not every comment needs an in-depth explanation. Since the intent wasn’t clear enough for you and possibly others, I’ll clarify that it was meant as more of a “strap in” comment than anything else. The only other Kickstarter I can recall prior to the last one was that first Hasbro book. Those two campaigns were quite the ride. For added transparency: I am in favor of preorders as stated in another thread. I’ve also backed a number of Kickstarter and crowd funding campaigns over the years. Like it or not, it always seems to have its detractors. The one critique the Kickstarter model is that it can create a significant delay due to the steps necessary for something to be funded. It doesn’t mean it WILL happen but there have been campaigns that stalled out due to a lack of progress or updates. If a Toy Company X puts a campaign up with all of its concept designs…there isn’t a lot for them to update people on until the project is or is not funded. Creative stretch goals have been successful for some but it may be too early to even dip into that aspect of the conversation with these pieces. There is a very good chance I’ll be backing this. I’m very surprised with the direction they are going as my first impression had been that they were looking to continue the Remco style AWA figures. Those renders look amazing and I look forward to seeing what the rest of it will look like/what scale it will be in. Those faces look almost too nice to be on that Remco style body…and if that’s the case, they might make for some really good customs. Lots of possibilities. I’m not looking for a gotcha. But your response to a new figure line announced via Kickstarter was “Kickstarter. Lol” Yet when I clearly articulate criticism I’m being “negative” and you tell me to stop posting in the thread. What positive impact did your post quoted above have?I was nearly pointing out your hypocrisy. by saying “strap in” indicating it will be a bumpy ride before it’s even been started fully is jumping to conclusions snd disrespectful as is your comment “ A Kickstarter campaign isn’t quite the same as an independent toy company which is what they seemed to present themselves as.” Ironic your talking about delays when you fail to accept one iota if criticism about a line which has had multiple delays yet your predicting delays before this had even started. If you don’t see the irony in that I can’t help point it out any clearer

Oh, this can be good... really good! You don't put headsculpts like that on remco bodies. Remco bodies were never promised, to my knowledge.

You don't put headsculpts like that on remco bodies. Remco bodies were never promised, to my knowledge. It was announced with no images so speculation from some was these could potentially be remco style because one of the founders is a former employee However they did that style (muscular squat bodies) because it was a popular style at the time I imagine now these will be neca style - very realistic based on those heads

That would be a better suit for them in my opinion. The old HeMan squat style is only speculation based on the involved parties (the former Remco VP as well as AWA’s Greg Gagne).
I can’t remember if this article was already linked so I’ll just paste it here for more visibility:
“ FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla., Feb. 23, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- A new line of collectible wrestling action figures comprised of legends of the sport from the past six decades will soon be launched under the PowerTown brand, according to company founders Steve Rosenthal and Greg Gagne. The brand, with the tagline 'Where Wrestling Lives On', has signed more than 150 wrestling personalities including many that have never been issued as limited-edition action figures. These will soon be available to collectors and enthusiasts for purchase.
Rosenthal created the wrestling action figure craze of the 80s while serving as Senior Vice President of Marketing at Remco Toys as part of a licensing partnership with legendary wrestler Verne Gagne where they introduced and marketed AWA All-Star Wrestling action figures to wild success. Today, the toy industry veteran is working with Verne's son Greg to launch a new line of dynamic action figures of the athlete icons of the wrestling world, many of whom have never before been honored as wrestling action figures. The figures are sure to delight the millions of collectors and fans who will eagerly await the opportunity to make these figures part of their collection. The team has spent the last several months signing licensing agreements with legendary wrestlers and their families while working with the best sculptors, toy designers, and manufacturing partners to develop an incredible line of high-quality legacy collectibles. "Collectors and fans alike are going to be excited to now have access to our exclusive limited-edition wrestling figures," Rosenthal says. "In the coming months, we plan to offer Series 1 direct to enthusiasts via Kickstarter, with follow-up direct to consumer series' introductions rolling out consistently thereafter." He adds "We believe it will be the most comprehensive line of legacy wrestling action figures collectibles ever launched and I am thrilled to be back in the wrestling action figure business after my success at Remco."
Greg Gagne is equally excited, exclaiming "We have secured licensing agreements with some of the most iconic, legendary and celebrated wrestlers of years past including not only my father Verne Gagne, but also Lou Thesz, Stan Hansen, and Magnum TA, and that's only part of series 1! Wrestling fans and collectors have been yearning for these collectibles and I am proud to be part of a stellar team of professionals that will allow us to introduce these figures to the market in the United States and around the world." Gagne further added, "Re-teaming with Steve in a company that has pro wrestlers involved on a corporate level is a dream come true."
Rosenthal, who serves as Managing Partner of Relativity Worldwide LLC, came out of retirement to undertake this initiative with Gagne. "When presented with the opportunity to work with Greg Gagne and an incredible group of professionals including wrestling legend Terry 'Magnum TA' Allen, it was simply too enticing to pass up. To now have success with Verne's son Greg is an honor and something that I am sure his dad and the entire wrestling community would and will be proud of," he concludes.”

http://instagram.com/p/CaYs_rluxxX Not really sure what I think of these renders TBH. Elements of them look really cool, but some stuff looks, for lack of a better word, cruddy.

I dig them! Price might be the final deciding factor for me. They aren’t as detailed as some figures we’ve seen elsewhere but there are historical names I would love to see made. I bet they could do some really fun/creative packaging with these as well.

Also, I really hope that there’s an option to back per figure somehow.

The renders are amazing -- but a big gamble to back on Kickstarter without knowing how they will really turn out...

I think they look awesome personally. It's almost like a more modernized take on the remco style, which is really interesting to me. I'm hoping these things take off and the goal isn't some far-fetched number. There's a lot of potential with 150+ figures to come, and probably the only way we'd get a lot of these guys. And those head sculpts, God! Whoever did those needs a raise.

It's almost as if their trying to do kind of elite style figures while retaining the squat proportions of Remcos.
Also, looking at DiBiase's attire, I'm guessing that's from his time in All Japan...? Not the pre-wwf look I wouldve went with.

These are awesome, and I'm almost all in. Shame they're not going to get made.

Hmmm, these are interesting. Not sure what I expected, but these do look kind of cool.
No word on scale yet, correct? They look kind of squatty, I can't tell if they're Remco sized or not. I was really hoping for 6"-7" scale like Mattel and Jazwares.
Depending on price, I would probably buy Thesz, Gagne, and Hansen. Maybe DiBiase.

They look pretty good. Better than expected. I'd like to see some more from this before going all in. A Buddy Rogers would be nice to see. As would a NWA Harley Race. So do you have to back the Kickstarter to get the figures? Or is the Kickstarter just a way to get money to fund the making of the figures, once they're made then you purchase the figure?

They’re aren’t any restrictions on them making more and selling them directly to the consumer and/or retailers after they fulfilled their obligations to their backers.

Not the pre-wwf look I wouldve went with. Hansen & Dibiase wore similar gear when they tagged together in All Japan for the tag league in the 80s.
