I think it's great to get a part of the Rougeau Dynasty: Eddie Auger, Johnny Rougeau, Jacques Rougeau Sr., Ray Rougeau, Jacques Rougeau Jr. and Armand Rougeau! Curious how they'll turn out, wouldn't count on the Remco style: Zoloworld L.L.C. owns those molds... Do you know much about the family? I only know the brothers and also heard a lot of good stuff about jaques’ son but that’s about it - we’re the elder family well known in their day?

Well Eddie Auger also wrestled as Pierre LaSalle and held the NWA Texas tag-belts with Mad Dog Vachon.

That Lou Thesz render is a bit unrecognizable. They should've opted for a balding, later look.

Why the lol? Kickstarter is the most reliable crowdfunding site imo, unlike others they require actual prototypes which means research and development has already started.

The likeness is definitely there for a younger Thesz but, yeah, I suppose maybe an older look would've been been better for their target audience, 80s kids. And also, have to agree with the comment that those renders look too nice for Remco style bodies lol.

I laugh because these things can be a real crapstorm. A Kickstarter campaign isn’t quite the same as an independent toy company which is what they seemed to present themselves as. Not in the traditional sense, anyhow. I’m not knocking Kickstarter or crowdsourcing or anything or the like…but the last Kickstarter wrestling figure project failed and it failed hard. This one at least has marketable names and quality looking renders…but we all know that would come at a price.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE BE COMPATABLE WITH MATTEL AND JAZWARES!
I'm so sick of companies making figures of people that I've wanted for a long time (Looking at you Chella Toys) but making them only in Retro form. Chella has done Sabu and Dynamite Kid so far, but their 6 inch series doesn't seem to be picking up tons of steam. This would be a dream come true if this line can fill in a bunch of those gaps that I'm missing in my collection.

You see the difference is I explain my criticism, you just put a disrespectful lol up. I would also ask is this More of a crap storm than a ‘pre order’ which is essentially “crowdfunding” because your not putting the figures into production until after you have the funds from the pre order. Crowdfunding by any other name is still crowdfunding Also when the two biggest toy companies in the world regularly run crowdfunding campaigns I think it’s an acceptable model

I'd get Hansen and DiBiase. My Mattel Magnum is good enough and not sure how Thesz or Verne would fit into the rest of my collection, 99% of which is mid-80s to present day.

God, please don't go the Kickstarter route. Seems like it would be doomed as the track record for wrestling fans is baaaaad.

Cool looks like they’re essentially going pretty-90s, certainly for series 1

Not sure that I'd be interested in the figured, but those head sculpts are incredible.

Crowdfunding by any other name is still crowdfunding Also when the two biggest toy companies in the world regularly run crowdfunding campaigns I think it’s an acceptable model Why are you following me and constantly looking for a “gotcha” moment? Your behavior is consistent with someone who obsesses over things and that isn’t always healthy my friend. If you want you can message me and I can try to help you. It’s a shame you decided to view that as being a negative or disrespectful comment. Not everyone approaches things with that attitude and not every comment needs an in-depth explanation. Since the intent wasn’t clear enough for you and possibly others, I’ll clarify that it was meant as more of a “strap in” comment than anything else. The only other Kickstarter I can recall prior to the last one was that first Hasbro book. Those two campaigns were quite the ride. For added transparency: I am in favor of preorders as stated in another thread. I’ve also backed a number of Kickstarter and crowd funding campaigns over the years. Like it or not, it always seems to have its detractors. The one critique the Kickstarter model is that it can create a significant delay due to the steps necessary for something to be funded. It doesn’t mean it WILL happen but there have been campaigns that stalled out due to a lack of progress or updates. If a Toy Company X puts a campaign up with all of its concept designs…there isn’t a lot for them to update people on until the project is or is not funded. Creative stretch goals have been successful for some but it may be too early to even dip into that aspect of the conversation with these pieces. There is a very good chance I’ll be backing this. I’m very surprised with the direction they are going as my first impression had been that they were looking to continue the Remco style AWA figures. Those renders look amazing and I look forward to seeing what the rest of it will look like/what scale it will be in. Those faces look almost too nice to be on that Remco style body…and if that’s the case, they might make for some really good customs. Lots of possibilities.
