Remcos are like 40 years old and were an AWA line not WWF or WCW, the appeal is probably incredibly niche ...and there are a lot of 40 year old (plus) collectors out there... 😄 Sure, but it’s not a line that is going to really have a lot of buzz. It is for a very specific section of collectors and isn’t going to draw in very many outside of that group, and I would imagine that 2 of the first 4 figures being in limbo didn’t help

I actually didn’t have / wasn’t aware of remcos or awa as a kind growing up on the uk - however it’s a very iconic and nostalgic look lots of toys (official and otherwise) had the squat muscle man body - namely masters of the universe being the most obvious reference and then knock offs wise galaxy heroes, muscle warriors. Then all the bootleg wrestlers which is why the MWFPod used those style bodies for their figure line. Masters of the universe was far more popular than remcos. I would argue it’s targeting fans of the form factor from he man etc rather than remco fans as such. It’s no coincidence the line followed on from masters of the wwe universe

I'm over 40 (😬) but don't remember the Remcos... I've looked them up though and they were cool. And as you said, the MOTU look/physique is very popular. I don't think they're going to be available outside the US though, unfortunately... I just hope they won't be too expensive on the wrestling figure sites.

Yeah I’ve literally stopped buying to be able to get these - the figures themselves prob won’t be too bad but the shipping will be a right pain! Shipping prices are through the roof 😞

I just turned 42. Im from The the south, so I grew up watching the NWA, really more than the WWF. So as a kid, I had all of these (minus Mat Mania series). Has the ring, cage, the works
Granted I had only seen The Road Warriors, Flair and the Freebirds and Jimmy Garvin on tv. I was addicted to wrestling mags, so I knew most of the others from there
As a kid, these were so much better to play with than LJN’s. So many fond memories
That said, I won’t buy any of these except Flair. The nostalgia / collectibility just isn’t there for me

I was a huge WWF fan and very rarely watched AWA but Remcos were the wrestling line that I played with. I hated the LJN figs due to being big, kinda sticky, and no articulation. I don’t know how anyone played with them and recreated anything that resembled a realistic looking match. That being said, I realize I’m in the minority of 80s kids who primarily played with them. The price point I fear is gonna be it’s biggest hurdle. $20 is a lot to ask someone to jump into a new line where nostalgia is a huge selling factor that hardly anyone is nostalgic for.

One of the best things I heard with LJNs was on the history of ljn video when Myers said his big brother and his brothers friends at school would slam their ljn figures on the floor to see how high they would bounce lol

The awkward thing about it for me is that it’s sort of a new line, sort of a continuation of MOTWWEU. I know some of the MOTWWEU figures had a supernatural/mutated/magical element sculpted or painted in, but a lot of them work as normal wrestling figures if you remove the fantasy armour and weapons. If I went all in on Superstars, I’d have to then get all the “normal” MOTWWEU figures as well. And with secondary market prices plus international shipping, I just don’t think I could handle that kind of spending.

Another email update tonight…
“We wanted to let you know that your preorder item release date has changed. The updated release date is 4/19/2022. Please review your order details below. We're sorry if this date change is an inconvenience. The product manufacturer controls the release date for this product and we'll ship it to you as quickly as we can once it's released.”
Now seeing they don’t take your payment until they ship do they put the funds they took on the 17th back into my account? Or do they not and then “forget” and charge me again in April?

He always said its the retailer with the release this or that, now walmart is saying it's up to the manufacturer that determines when they get it?

Are we not gonna get yellow and red Hogan, or Andre, or trunks Savage, etc for a while since they essentially already released them?

I'm hoping there'll be scattered rereleases of them in the new Superstars line (obviously without the MOTU gear)...

I have no nostalgia for Remco or MoTU, but these just look like fun toys to mess around with. The price point is definitely too high for kids, and probably too high for all the reuse they’re going to have going on.

I hope they will be easier to obtain at retail or on that joke of website that is Walmart.com. Some of those WWE MOTU waves I only saw once and consider myself lucky to have got them.

There’s no street date on these. They can sell and ship these as soon as their inventory arrives.
