I work at Walmart. Today, I scanned a doink figure that has been warming the shelf for awhile to check and see if we had any incoming. According to the system, we had 5 on the sales floor, which was accurate (doink, red pants hulks, and 1 blue pants) and 8 in the back room. There is another full case of series 8 that I found. But, should be another case back there somewhere. Couldn't locate it though. On my journey though, I did find a case of AEW jazware figures in the back room, which had a chase Keith Lee figure in it. Wish my Walmart was like yours. I've been looking for Andre and Doink for literally 5 or 6 months now and never found them. Had someone here gift me and Andre, which was awesome, and went to eBay for Doink because it was pretty cheap. Still, I like to buy 2 of each of the Superstars, but that's not happening with series 8.

Like you i go out at night to see what is new and noticed this trend as well. This is something i wanted to adress before as i literally see the same employees bringing out the same pallets BUT with a few hot boxes that would surely sell but instead of placing the hot product on overflowing pegs, they will put them back on the pallets before then buying them later on their shift. In other words they are purposely (in some cases) leaving the pegs full of red pants hogan (for example) but bring out hot boxes to the floor SO THEY CAN OPEN THEM, and as a team hiding big bossman on overstock shelves or on "return carts" till they get their 15 min smoke break where they can buy said figure and a drink (cough). I have seen this 3 times now and twice at the same store. So if they can open boxes and mot put them out they could also pull the pegwarmers and stock the hot toys. But no... The employees have outsmarted the walmart restock situation and corporate having axed all mid level executive positions doesn't have the pencil pushers to figure out why superstars aren't selling. Then there's the fact that they still haven't clearanced out the rocky maiva 3 pack which throws steves excuse (that he is sending walmart new squ's for red pants hogan) out the window. This is all on walmart. Sidearm quarterbacks everywhere would agree. There is no assortment of rocky maiva 3 packs. They could clearance those now, today, no new sku needed. I really want to understand why walmart never wants to clearance out product until years later. Who came up with that idea. Target has a fast turnover. They may not make as much per figure but they will make it in droves based on quantity. Walmarts model of maximizing roi is stupid and outdated and screams the practice of a reseller who will wait for that sucka to pay top dollar. Target acts like a business and is happy with their 75% profit. Those 3 packs will end up at ollies for 29.99 like the hogan 3 pack. Walmart could just reduce the price to 30$ themselves and they'd sell out in one day, but they'll instead sell them to ollies for 15$ or less after sitting on them for a year so that ollies can make the 30 dollars instead Pure stupidity. Again the perfect (mr.prrfect)example; they could have sold those 1000s of perfects and bambams for 10$ all day long but instead they sold them to ollies for 5$ or less. Whoever controls the toy side of the business should be axed immediately. They are losing walmart tons of money I'm sure your theory about employees buying the figures does happen. But not every week at every store. When the five Walmarts in my area get no new stock for two months, I don't think that the employees in every store are doing this. Maybe in one, maybe even in two.... but not all of them. What grinds my gears is that Walmart shouldn't be stocking so lightly that one "collector" or "scalper" can wipe out an entire store's supply and not even need a shopping cart. You don't see people depleting an entire Target of Legends figures - because Target stocks correctly for it's customers. Target is prepared. Walmart is not. Bottom line, Walmart often sends 1 case per store. An average case of wrestling figures includes one of each figure. If Walmart is only stocking 1 of each figure per store, it doesn't matter if an employee buys them first, because there is equal chance that another scalper or even just a regular FAN comes along and buys it before I ever see it! Walmart is under-stocking, distributing un-evenly, and creating this problem. As far as clearance sales go - I'm pretty sure BOTH clearance and moving stock to Ollie's Bargain Outlet is a complete LAST RESORT for both Walmart and Mattel. I'm not so sure that they are deliberately allowing stock to sit and collect dust for a whole year instead of clearancing it out - - - but I AM pretty sure that they just don't care and aren't paying attention to it, because it's such a small fraction of their business that they aren't one bit worried about it. Plus, they no longer employ "managers" to run their toy departments, they just get stock in and sell through it. No one is doing any ordering, and they probably only move stuff to clearance when the plan-o-gram changes and the items no longer have a spot. I think you often confuse Walmart's lazy business practices as intentional. I don't think they are plotting to hold these items because they are so afraid of losing money on them - - - but I do think they simply aren't paying attention because it doesn't matter to them. And they're too cheap to pay any managers for the toy departments, so they just aren't well maintained. And it shows, whenever you walk through a typical Walmart toy aisle and it's either barren of any relevant product or it looks like a tornado has just run through it. After reading so many posts, like this, I wonder why people even bother. It just seems not fun and not worth it

So after a rough day at work yesterday, I decided I needed a quick Walmart trip to see if they had anything new for me to pick up. Hoping to find S11 or S12 Superstars, maybe some new Main Line Elites, or Monday Night Wars (GH or S5). This is what I found. A fresh case of Elite 93. What is this, three years old? I give up.

After reading so many posts, like this, I wonder why people even bother. It just seems not fun and not worth it I think it's rewarding to have the figures after it's all said and done - I collect loose and love having a full shelf of these with the attention to detail put into the soft goods. We're misclassifying the search for them as a "hunt" and should be continuing to stress to the appropriate parties that it is looking for needles in a haystack that is actively caught on fire more often than not. For me personally, I'm on the road enough to hit a good amount of retail stores in a week - it's just that this area (PA/DE/NJ) is the Bermuda Triangle for stocking stuff in these stores apparently. Demand here is higher than what I think these retailers forecast, which leads to posts like this when said retailers don't manage inventory. Every once in a while someone will post a shot of Smyth's across the pond and I catch myself wondering why nobody's explored even a smaller regional scale operation like that here. You would smoke the competition putting just one or two of them around Philly stocking collectibles weekly.

I've frequently been trying to get there when they roll the pallets out (usually around 9:00pm - 10:00pm) and it's really surprising to see the same pallets being brought into multiple stores in the same evening.... you'll almost always see Barbie Dream Houses & dolls, Monster High, Hot Wheels, Red Wagons, and Board games, but rarely any WWE stuff. Even when the WWE section is empty. I've been trying to figure out if they ARE getting new stuff and I'm just missing it (scalpers finding it first) or - - - the stuff just isn't coming in at all. Like you i go out at night to see what is new and noticed this trend as well. As far as the inventory system anyone can order anything they want with as many cases they want but it has to be approved by a manager before it's accepted in the system to be shipped from distribution Center to the store. And we also know the customers who are true collectors who are regulars that we help out with things and we also know who all the local scalpers are that we tell whatever is on the shelf is all we got.

If you want action figures so bad that you'd take a job so that you can get them before the general public - guess what, you can have them. I don't want these things bad enough to base my JOB around getting more of them. This is a hobby - not a CAREER. LOL, LOL. I'd rather drive around to 100 empty Walmarts and not find a damn thing before I'd take an actual job WORKING for Walmart just so I could buy toys from the back room. That being said - - - stopped by the Wilmington DE Walmart tonight.... I'm assuming this dude and all the other back-room fellas bought up all the WWE stock before it ever hit the shelves here, LOL.

Because if you were an actual "collector" and have all this "ordering" ability, you would do the right thing and order enough to stock the Walmart shelves decently, instead of just sending the "extras or unwanted figures going to the sales floor" as you said. If that's what you are really doing? You are a lousy employee and a major part of the Walmart problem. If you are legit, and have this unlimited ordering ability - take a little pride in your work and get those shelves stocked for your fellow collectors. AND buy figures for yourself. That's what any decent employee would do. Why wouldn't you do that?

Elite are 8 per case ppv elite are 5 per case Top picks/ greatest hits elite are 8 per case Ultimate edition are 4 per case main event are 12 per case 2 packs are 4 per case Superstars are 4/5 per case depending on if the series has 3 or 4 figures in it Mnw are 5 per a case Aew are six per case So basically by the time I get my complete set that usually leaves 1 or 2 left from the exclusives going out to the floor depending on how many cases comes in also if something is ordered doesn't mean it's coming in instantly the very next day on the truck after the others are purchased sometimes it takes up to 2 weeks for them to get shipped. There's plenty of figures stocked on the shelf right now in my store it's not my fault if the scalpers doesn't want to buy them and just try to cherry pick the fresh cases from store to store and drive from state to state doing so But if you would have correctly read my response 2 responses ago you would have seen I said we all know the true local collectors who always come in and constantly help them out with the stuff that is put up in the back they are looking for and we also know who the scalpers are and don't help them one bit so whatever guess I'm a bad employee cause I won't supply and feed the flea market scalpers and online reseller's. Speaking of which wasn't you the guy a few years ago trying to buy the stock of pat Pattersons at the Walmart in-store signing he was doing and then wanted the online going pricing rate for them from everyone on here ?

Absolutely not. Never sold a figure yet. I'm not a reseller or a scalper. I'm a frustrated collector who is trying to understand this messed up system. If it's so easy to order these figures as you say - why are so many Walmarts constantly out of them? And yeah it's damn frustrating to know that you are holding figures in the back for all your "friendly collectors" when I'm constantly walking into Walmarts and seeing a selection like the one I've just posted.

And yeah it's damn frustrating to know that you are holding figures in the back for all your "friendly collectors" when I'm constantly walking into Walmarts and seeing a selection like the one I've just posted. well basically more to less it has a lot to with the area and location of the stores like if it's a high theft/crime rate area those stores won't stock as much because of that reason specifically usually it would come in every other 2 or 3 months if anything at all,but if it's a higher class/ rural area you're chances are fairly high for constantly having restocks coming in every week/month with the newest product. Then the other thing it comes down to is the managers of the departments and store and if they have knowledge of anything toy wise of what's popular along with sales of them items which most don't and that why you see a constant abundance of toddler pokemon Mario and younger kids and girls toys constantly restocked more than anything else because they think that's what sells the most so they order a high quantity of them and then they sit rotting until clearance most of them running the ordering process have the mindset of toys don't sell year round at all and they only bring profits to the store during holiday times such as Christmas and Easter which we all know is completely wrong but they don't see it that way so that's the main reason why most stores are the way they are with nothing. luckily some stores are like mine were most of if not all the higher ups are collectors or their kids are and will manually order everything themselves and override the auto ordering inventory system just to get new stock coming in.

I give up. Found a full case of these myself today Our distro center sucks man! Been an absolute dead zone here for a month or so.

Surprised that I found 2 Cacti and both Foundations today. Guess I just need the Razor series. Forget who’s even in that wave besides the bad guy.

Razor Razor Chase Rey Mysterio Brutus Beefcake Since your Walmart got these I wonder if they skipped other series. Like 1 out of my 3 got Vader and Lou Al Bano, only 1 got beefcake razor no chase and Mysterio twice the other 2 didn’t.

Don’t need another for zodiac and long tights razor isn’t a must have. No desire for Rey. His MOTU is perfect

I mean Scott hall has 1 and razor 2 (1 chase) but it’s two different characters.
