*UPDATE*
Want to thank everyone for their comments as they were useful in weighing up the pros and cons. I ended up deciding to go ahead and travel. Since this thread was made the UK have relaxed re-entry requirements and it's expected that an announcement will be made tomorrow that all re-entry tests will be abolished. Meaning I don't have to test at all to come home or when I'm back either. The only real thing standing in my way is the test required to enter the US that I'll be taking this Saturday. I've been very cautious lately and have been/will be testing myself this week and they've been negative so it's looking good.
I have tickets for AEW in Chicago and Atlantic City which are unaffected, and tickets for Blackhawks and Bulls games also. Really excited for my first trip to the US so it should be cool.
