We all know that we’re getting CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Adam Cole, etc. at some point, but what about the figures that we don’t know if and when we’ll get? Here are some ideas that I had, but I’m well aware that these are just wishful ideas and aren’t likely to come to fruition.
To begin, why not some tag teams? I know it’s tough because teams take up two spots in a line, but new characters are a must for sustained excitement. I’m talking The Acclaimed, the Butcher and the Blade, and Private Party.
Secondly, this won’t happen, but I’d love to see an Andrade el Ídolo figure come with his Black Mask inspired entrance suit. He’s been a huge part of AEW television lately with his ongoing feud against Cody Rhodes, so I think that if Jazwares wanted to announce him for Unrivaled Series 10 or 11 it’d be great to see some new faces in the line. Problem is, licensing and trademarks would probably be an issue since the Black Mask character is property of DC.
As a follow up to that, Malakai Black has also recently been involved in a feud with Cody Rhodes and was at Full Gear. We need an AEW-branded figure for him too, so why not put him in series 10 or 11 also with his entrance mask?
The budgeting on these figures would be tough, but if possible I could see us maybe getting a cloth goods entrance robe for Cody when the time for Unmatched Series 4 comes around. He’s already been announced for that wave and the robe is a great part of his entrance and would look awesome in figure form, IMO.
And finally, one of the few Dark Order members that we’re not getting with Unmatched Series 2, there’s 10 (aka Preston Vance). I love 10, you love 10, and we need him in the line at some point within the future to truly get our Dark Order collection solidified. They’re a huge part of AEW programming as well, so Alan Angels also fits into this category since he regularly has matches on Dynamite too.

Jeremy has said that they're very interested in having a line that covers as much of the roster as they can. But there are always going to be constraints. Just like with Mattel, they're going to be making guys who are getting regular time on tv/ppv, but there's a delay in working figures into a lineup. If somebody started getting pushed in the last few months, it'll be a few more months before we see a figure.
The Dark Order were a huge part of AEW programming going back a couple of years, and we're just getting figures now. There always has to be a balance of making the popular stars that will sell at retail and going deeper into the roster. Most of the featured talent will get made - but as some of the contracts start come up for renewal, there are definitely going to be some people who were featured at one point who leave and never get figures.
I do hope they find a way to work in the Buter & Blade soon - they just seem like a team that would be super toyetic. And Private Party may be in the works from their time featured along with Matt Hardy. It takes about a year for a figure to go from design to shelves, so what is being released is always going to be behind who is currently featured on tv.

stc13 yeah we’re just now getting Brian Cage, who was a big part of the company in 2020 and now probably isn’t even going to re-sign, Swole is gone and we didn’t get her, etc AEW has to worry about sales more than WWE so it is going to be harder to get your Jack Evans and Red Velvet and Kip Sabian than the Omegas and Codys and Jerichos It sucks but it’s understandable

The notable free agents they sign add to visibility, make the figures more attractive to retailers, etc. And it makes total sense to fast track Punk, Bryan, etc. But it also means some wrestlers who probably would have been made are going to come and go without getting a figure. Awesome Kong seems like a great example. She deserves a figure as much as anyone in wrestling, is super toyetic, and this was probably as close as we were going to get to her getting a figure. She was featured early on before there was a figure line, disappeared during the pandemic, and now is gone from the company. Maybe she could be signed as a legend at some point. But it'll be a huge (and understandable) bummer if she never gets a figure.

I think we will get figures of
Number 10 of the dark order Alex Reynolds Butcher and the blade Private party andrade el idolo Malakai Black Acclaimed
Don’t forget the line is still kinda new, that’s why Jeremy made the unmatched wave so he plans to do most of the guys in AEW, you need to be patient tho as they might take time. I would love Andrade to come with black mask head would be sick tbf. I’m looking forward to next year and seeing what the line brings us

I was hoping for an SCU Christopher Daniels, complete with sunglasses, jacket and microphone on a mic stand - but that may not happen now.

I was hoping for an SCU Christopher Daniels, complete with sunglasses, jacket and microphone on a mic stand - but that may not happen now. CD is the head of talent relations, so he should be with AEW for quite a while hopefully. I don't know if/where it fits in, but it would be a huge oversight not to make him. But totally agree that it was a little surprising not to see him in the first 5/6 waves. I'd love to get SCU Daniels and a Fallen Angel Luminaries.

I honestly think ALMOST everyone has a legit chance of being made. With both Unmatched and Unrivaled, and Jazwares stating they want to make as much of the roster as possible, I think we have a great chance of getting the majority of the roster.
Obviously, we will get the likes of
Andrade Malakai Adam Cole Bryan Danielson Ethan Page Booby Fish Jay Lethal Sean Spears Ruby Soho etc.
But I think we will definitely over time get the likes of
The Acclaimed Varsity Blondes Butcher and Blade Joey Janella Colt Cabana Alan Angels 10 Alex Reynolds Top Flight Private Party Matt Sydal Bunny Penelope Ford Red Velvet etc.
The only kinds of stars I could see us having trouble getting are wrestlers like
Lee Johnson Shawn dean Lee Moriarty Brandon Cuttler Luthor Fuego Del Sol Aaron Solo Nick Comoroto Peter Avalon Nakazawa etc.
But, some of those guys could develop and get pushed, and then we might get them.
But I really think not much is off the table.
I will say, I really do hope we get Christopher Daniels somehow. I thought he was a sure thing, but now I'm not so sure. He is still signed with AEW though, so if anything, I hope he gets a Luminaries figure.

I know, but DC split the master license between multiple companies when Mattel lost it. Mattel kept Hot Wheels related DC merchandise. McFarlane and Spin Master both received licenses to make Batman/DC figures in different scales. So maybe Jazwares had received a piece of it as well? I don’t think they did, because I hadn’t heard anything about them when the new license took effect… but stranger things have happened.

DC split the license across various companies based on scale and target audience. So McFarlane has the rights to more adult oriented mass market products, whereas Spin Master has the rights to target more kid friendly products at the 4 inch scale. For Jazwares to do something DC related, they would need the rights to DC as well, which they do not have. Having dual rights is how McFarlane was able to include the MK 11 Joker in their Mortal Kombat line. Another example would be Hasbro being able to make a Fortnite themed Snake Eyes.

Basically I was stating/asking if Jazwares was one of the companies who got part of the license because there were a few companies but I didn’t know if they were one of them.

Might take awhile, but there seems to be pathways in the line for notable free agents like that to show up eventually.

Janella is definitely somebody who seemed like he factored into plans to be a solid midcarder early on. I think once they scrapped their small hardcore division, he basically lost direction. I think we'll get CD eventually. But Joey seems pretty unlikely any time soon, assuming he gets re-signed.

The Butcher & The Blade would be sick, so would a Paul Wight with their style and articulation points.
