I'm not sure if this belongs here or the WWE subforum, but I'm just wondering if the AEW ring could be converted to an '80s/early '90s WWF ring, while it's still available around MSRP.
Are the parts interchangeable with the WWE ring? I assume the AEW one has square ring posts - do the round ones still fit? What about the ring mats and skirts?
I intended on having to do some customizing (i.e., I'd prefer turnbuckle pads that have the proper WWF logo instead of the modern "WW" one they use on Legends merch), I just didn't know how extensive it would be.

From what I can see, the only difference is that the posts are square but I feel the WWE still fit. The main other difference is that the hook connecting the turnbuckle to the post is longer creating a larger gap on the apron and hence needing slightly shorter ropes than the WWE ASR. However this is nullified when using the WWE ASR hooks. The base is the same size. In other words, yes I believe everything is still interchangeable.
EDIT: Sorry spoke too soon. After testing, the old round posts don't fit into the AEW ring base. Everything else above remains true

The mats and skirts can be interchanged, but the corner posts and turnbuckle connectors are different,

Wow, that is fantastic. Do you have anymore pictures? That’s one of my goals to build a full WCW arena. My only issues is that most rings are too big. |
