No idea. I just wonder when we're getting a WCW Sting.

He is the first Illuminaries figure in the line. Every Unamtched wave is going to rotate an LJN-style or Illuminaries figure as sort of a sub line.
LJN has Cody and then Darby in Wave 3, Illuminaries will have Sting and then Jericho. consider it a Legends sub-line.
There's also a Walmart exclusive Illuminaries Sting with half his face painted like Darby from the cinematic match he had against Team Taz.

I was going to say wasn’t the Walmart figure with the half Sting/half Darby face paint the Luminaries figure? I though the regular Sting was just a regular figure.

Sting was advertised pretty early on as the first entry in the Luminaries collection:

I love Sting and all, but I want stuff like 2000 Jerry Lynn and a 99 Taz. If we have to wait every other set on these, it's going to be a long wait.

Jeremy is definitely moving towards a standalone legends line, and has made some Twitter comments along those lines. But retail is the tail that wags the dog. If Unmatched/Unrivaled do well, I think we could see a third line in some capacity. AEW is definitely putting together a pretty strong roster of legends talent in house, and you have some potential retail anchors with Owen and Sting.

Love me some Sting figures but this is a pass for me. Great for folks who want him but I'll be watching out for some legends era attires

Upon looking at that Sting... does anyone know if the lower portions of the AEW figures are swappable with Mattel elites? I’m asking because I want to swap the knees/calves to give my Mattel Sting accurate boots.

However if you are willing to chop up and customize you could cut off the Mattel shin peg and dremel a hole in the shin and cut off the Jazwares AEW sting shin peg and dremel a hole in the peg attach the two pieces with something like a 6mm dowel and crazy glue it together and walahhh.

Can someone explain Luminaries to your old pal?
I missed this for whatever reason.

It’s the same as regular figures just of a legend character. These are in every other set. Series 3 is LJN Darby and Series 4 is Corazon de Leon Chris Jericho Luminaries.

So what about the Walmart Sting figure? (Sting/Darby face paint) does that mean Walmart cases will have both versions of Sting in it?

Can someone explain Luminaries to your old pal? I missed this for whatever reason. Jazwares had to dig through the thesaurus to find a name for that subset. Legends, Classics, Retro and Flashbacks were all taken.

I think if the Luminaries sell well we may get an entire wave and/or line down the road.
A wave consisting of Jericho, Sting, Owen Hart, Taz, Jake Roberts and Arn Anderson would probably sell, or at least keep pegs a bit fuller to give AEW a retail presence.
