Remains to be seen what is cleaned from the Dark Side thread, but the last post was a direct insult of that member, something PJ warned about earlier. You can generally call out and insult society and broad swaths of the population, even if those words are sparked by and meant to include members here. You just can't single members out. Or not, nothing is set in stone.

Just hoping Ric pays for his crimes even in a small way. And this is coming from a huge Ric fan (before last Thursday).

The whole episode was so messy for Ric and Dreamer when it was all said and done. It's crazy to me how this episode went from people saying it was a "bad topic to start the season's return" to THE most talked about episode.

Dreamer comparing his stupid ass haircut to someone being sexually assaulted was just another level of stupid

Dreamer suspended for joking about sexual assault.*
A company that you work for and represent has the right to discipline you when your actions negatively reflect on you and possibly your company.
Members that have said some weird and creepy sh** about women on here in the past crying “cancel culture!” is grade A irony.

not defending dreamer, but i wonder if he wasn't aware of other's answers and figured he was being defensive of the business and flair and thought that's likely what the others were doing
that's not justifying it - it's that exact attitude of covering for each other that allowed that type of behavior to fly back then to begin with. but i don't think he understood the extent of flair's actions or the overall approach to the incident the episode was taking.

Absolutely. We have no idea what they actually asked him/how they phrased the questions. You're bang on that mentality he has is exactly how this stuff has gone on for so long, but yeah, we really don't know the full circumstances behind his answers

I feel like theres 2 really great rules of thumb to follow in life.
1) If you dont think something is offensive to women, replace the female victim of the story with your own mother, sister, etc and look at it again. If you still dont see a problem here, Im sorry for your mother.
2) If you dont want to be cancelled today, tomorrow or 40 years from now, dont do stupid crap. Period. Its too easy.
Do we all make mistakes? Sure but thats one helluva blanket statement to cover up obvious and clear sexual misconduct. Cant remember the last time I casually assaulted someone as a joke.
To put it in perspective the flight attendant is justifiably upset. People who are mad that Ric Flairs wallet is taking some hits are unjustifiably mad.

yet mark darling punk can get away with using a sexual term as a derogatory slur? if you can’t comprehend the gravity of difference in the scenario, that’s solely on you.

Whether Flair did it or not, Dreamer did absolutely nothing wrong whatsoever.

Whether Flair did it or not, Dreamer did absolutely nothing wrong whatsoever. yes he did. The man is in a position of power in a company and acted unprofessionally by going onto a TV show and comparing a sexual assault to having two ponytails. There were many ways to make what little of a point he made that didn't minimize someone being assaulted. It's no different from someone being fired from their job because of inappropriate social media posts, which is a real thing that really happens. Actions have consequences.

I think Impact did the right thing suspending Dreamer. He shouldn't have said what he said. I'm gonna copy Don Tony's words on this thing cause he said one thing that could have taken most of the heat away from Dreamer on his words. If Dreamer woulda said "in Ric's head" as to everything he said about "Oh Flair was joking". I'll agree that Dreamer's comments wouldn't have come off as bad as it did. Still no excuse, Impact made the right move.

Vince McMahon has been in plenty of trouble with women in the past. He's said and done things on television that are far "worse" than anything Dreamer said. Many of the people who want Dreamer to go away forever give Vinny Mac a pass as they dump loads of cash into his pocket. There's zero consistency in people's "outrage."

No one should be sacked for having an opinion unless it directly conflicts with the role (e.g. I work at a Catholic school so I will never put my opinions on the Catholic church on my Facebook newsfeed!) - but Dreamer saying Flair running about the plane naked was not the same as sexually assaulting someone has absolutely bugger all to do with his role as a pro-wrestler. He's not done anything wrong by saying he doesn't believe her account.

He has people working for him. Him coming out and making unprofessional statements like "it wasn't sexual harassment haha Ric Flair just likes showing off hahahaha look I have two pony tails! triggering the left hahaha" have real consequences.

Oh, I see. I didn't appreciate that he had two roles; you're right, that does change things somewhat. What's his role at Impact?
