I can already tell you that any trunks attire is likely out of the question right now since its all WWE IP. I could be wrong but his switch to trunks happened when he went to WWE and before that he was in gym shorts so if you're expect a MITB attire or Macho tribute, you're gonna be out of luck We’re doing this again with Punk now? WWE can’t own a couple straight lines and stars based on the Chicago flag BASED on the Chicago flag...Not the actual Chicago flag. Name one time a toy company used the IP of a wrestler/wrestling company to create a figure that they didnt already own the IP of. Just as we didnt get a TNA Sting from Mattel, Just as we havent gotten a TNA AJ Styles from Mattel. Just as we dont have WWE/WCW looks of Chris Jericho. Just as we wont get a WWE look from CM Punk UNLESS he wears the same attire again in an AEW ring. Its a pretty easy concept to understand.

Well for starters the Lionheart in the same set as this Punk figure, and second, please inform me what part of this gear pictured below that is owned by World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. Punk wore these exact same designs on his gear on Sunday, just styled slightly different to fit on tights instead of trunks

I hope it’s the debut attire. We’re likely gonna get tons of wrestling attire Punks, so I’m not in a rush

The real question is do we get the tattoos?

I am pleading with you guys saying the debut attire is the chase to stop putting that energy in the world.
I will never see a chase figure as long as I live and I can't pay secondary prices for what, as far as I'm concerned, is the only Punk I'll ever need.
Plus, I'm really on the fence about tights Punk. It's just so weird for me to see him in tights. I'm sure I'll get used to it but it's going to take time.

Hopefully in ring attire. I personally love it, and have zero desire for him in street clothes.

Punk wore these exact same designs on his gear on Sunday, just styled slightly different to fit on tights instead of trunks First the LionHeart figure we're getting is Corazón de León which he used in the early-mid 90s. It was IP of CMLL. IPs expire after 20 years if not renewed (which is highly unlikely). Second, you're focusing entirely too much on the physical design of his trunks for your argument. If Punk walks out on any AEW event wearing that exact same attire, then its completely fair game. However that attire was worn specifically at a WWE event. Therefore if Jeremy makes a 2011 MITB attire and releases it to the consumer, Jazwares could be legally liable if WWE/Mattel wanted to make an issues of it. I gave you numerous examples above. You literally cannot trademark a scorpion. Yet we never got a TNA version of Sting because that physical look/appearance was on a TNA show and is IP of TNA/Impact Wrestling. Now, you MIGHT get one from Jazwares because there is a working relationship between the two companies, but thats another story. Same thing is being done in college football right now. An athlete at say Alabama can be paid for his name, image & likeness (NIL) but unless given permission by the university none of the school logos can be shown. That being said, Alabama doesnt use logos on their helmets just numbers. You cant file a trademark on an actual number. However if Bryce Young (QB for Alabama) does a commercial his Alabama helmet has to be numberless (even though his jersey doesnt) because a crimson numbered helmet is Intellectual property of University of Alabama.

Stings scorpion isn’t a great comparison because that is a stylised representation of a scorpion. If I asked for a ‘scorpion design’ it could be drawn 100 ways. Those stars are THE stars from Chicago’s flag. So I get what your saying but it’s more nuanced that your implying.

It should be the street gear. That was a special night and it'd be great to have a figure for it. Imagine if Mattel made one with his yellow trunks & that Stone Cold shirt.
He'll be getting plenty of figures, so it's not really a giant concern of mine.

If CM Punk walked out on WWE TV naked with the Chicago Flag wrapped around him, AEW could make a naked CM Punk figure. Those trunks are not exact copies of the Chicago flag & he wore it specifically ONLY on WWE TV...Therefore AEW will not make it. Unless he wears trunks on AEW TV the only wrestling gear you're gonna see from Jazwares is his long pants, ROH/Indie shorts & his ROH trunks previously mentioned.

We got an entire video game where guys had gear on that they wore on WWE or WCW TV. I have no idea where this idea came from.

Because he probably owns the attire design so he can wear it wherever he wants. But if Jazwares releases a figure in the attire posted above prior to him wearing it in AEW then they can say that attire is based off a WWE event so it would be off limits until he shows up in AEW wearing it. I am no lawyer or pretend to know intellectual property law but if I had to guess then that would be what I feel the reasoning would be.
