AEW is not competition to wwe? Don’t drink the Vince Kool Aid They really aren’t. I do believe if things continue how they have been recently, they definitely COULD and SHOULD be major competition in the next few years. They're on track to be serious competition to raw in the next 6 months if that ship keeps sinking. SmackDown on the other hand? Yeah I think your few year estimate is pretty realistic for when they should hope to be comparable to SD current numbers. |

I really loved that ending. I feel like there's a small callback to Cody interrupting Dustin's attempted retirement too.

AEW makes most of their money from their tv deal. Same thing goes for wwe I agree that this should have had more build, but I think this should play out similar to Cody/Brodie. They make money from TV contracts and as revenue… not ratings. This isn’t the 90’s anymore. The better your ratings, the better the pay out. PPV and live gates were much more important in the 90s than they are now. I assure you, it’s ratings |

Could still very well take a few years, but they're on pace to be competitive there in around 6 months or so |

Pay-Per-View buys, merchandise, contracts/sponsors… Possibly live events, on their scale. The people up top in AEW are literally saying that their bread is buttered by tv ratings. You’re right that it’s not the be-all-end-all. There are multiple sources of revenue, but the money they’re able to negotiate in their next contract negotiations for tv rights will shape the future of this company and those numbers are based on ratings.
