I look at Tatanka as a guy who would be fringe on the line of someone who would pay $30 for but he gets that push because of what they can do with his attire, as far as the headdress and soft goods attire. The other three are no brainers for inclusion in the ultimate legends line, I don’t know what the argument is. I think these guys will all be in the Target Ultimate Line.

Mattel said a guy like Doink wouldn’t otherwise be able to get an Ultimate, but Doink was a joke after Summerslam 93 and Matt Borne literally only had 2 ppv matches.
Luger and Bulldog main evented PPVs, and Luger was a WCW champ. Bulldog was a mainstay of WWF TV from 86-99 pretty solidly. Razor was one of the core pillars of the New Gen and obviously went on to revolutionise the business. Maybe Tatanka less than the others but even he had a real good run from 92-95 and is super toyetic so I can easily see how they’re all Ultimate level.

When promoting the campaign the way Steve kept going on how Ultimate Edition is typically reserved for the top level talent and they would never be able to do UE Doink outside of the campaign leads me to believe Tatanka is never happening. Regardless of how toyetic a fully decked out Tatanka would be, he is not top level talent. His presence in the lineup invalidates the whole leak for me.

I was SO annoyed when Mattel gave us Demolition Crush over Kona Crush (or Evil Crush) - I had both Demolition guys, but I still wanted Kona Crush... it was his most iconic look/run. Plus, if you didn't already have the Demolition guys, then why would you want Demolition Crush by himself!? It was a baffling decision. I was okay with them making Demolition Crush first, but you are right, they really needed to release Kona Crush and Evil Crush too. If they ever get him back in the line, both of those version of Crush would make perfect sense for the figure with the chase, he wore multiple attires as both. For Kona Crush, I'd go with WM9 as the regular and KOTR93 as the chase. And for Evil Crush, I'd go with RR94 as the regular and KOTR94 as the chase. Also getting an early 1992 look would be cool to match the Hasbro figure that was released. And an early 93 Evil Crush look. |

I can see Razor and Bulldog being in the regular line especially Razor. The other two would seem at home in the Legends line. Let's face it with them starting a separate line for Legends with the minimal talent they have signed we will see others like Tatanka who wouldn't be on people's priority list. They may be able to avoid this problem if the Legends line is only two to four figures per year.

I totally would have preferred tatanka over doink on the new gen set. But no worries.
Also, it better be green or red razor for ultimate. Black was already done as a basic, and is not needed to be brought to either elite or ultimate line imo.

Tatanka just feels like the odd man out. I get that people want him but not really someone I would consider for the UE line. Davey Boy is borderline too.

I would probably pass on Lex. (Unless one of the heads is that BatB ponytail head without the face paint) I really only want a WCW Lex. The New generation agenda keeps being pushed…… Couldn’t be more blatant that the design team are pushing stuff they themselves personally want too. RA era is criminally underrepresented in this line and they’re making all this stuff for a period people hated I would buy way more New Gen than I ever would RA. RA I would probably only buy Evolution, Angle, Benjamin and two guys they can’t/won’t make (Jericho & Benoit) |
