I saw recently that Jeremy confirmed that AEW retro style figures are on the way.
Me personally I think this is awesome.
I do however have a feeling that this will be mixed into the line similar to LJN figures. I would assume possibly putting 2 figures in the package as apposed to 1 figure.
Who do you guys want to see ?
I would love an arn and Tully 2 pack

I loved Hasbros as a kid. But add me to the camp that doesn't really get the appeal.
They were really fun toys for the time and a huge part of my childhood. I bought some of the WWE retro figures, and there's a chance I'd pick up some AEW ones. But to me the Hasbro line stopped in '94, and unless someone can really capture the style and feel anything else in these retro lines are just some fun novelty figures for me.

Zero interest from me but cool for those who are into them. I don’t have a desire for figures with less likeness and articulation just because they resemble something from my childhood.
I just hope they don’t take up a spot like the LJN figures are.

Did he say whether these are going to be in a normal line like the LJN figures are, or whether they might look for new avenues for something like this? I don't like that all these experiments are taking up slots.

No interest in Mattel retros, no interest in any retros.

put me down for another who isn’t interested
idk who the market is for these besides 35+ year olds on the nostalgia kick or people who collect one person
I might pick up a Darby Allin for a desk piece only because I like him and the figures are half the size of Unrivaled
I just don’t think there’s a need for LJN or Hasbro style figures anymore, it’s not 1988 anymore

Ill take a Surfer Sting but besides that I don't really want many others. Just like the LJN figures I might buy the guys I really like(Darby,Kenny and Hangman) but I'm sure not their target audience with these.

I think I would be more excited for them had there not been so many announced recently. That said...I wouldn’t mind picking up some if they look cool (Omega, Bucks, Darby, MJF, Adam Page, Penta, Orange Cassidy, Colt Cabana...anyone but Cody). It would be awesome though if they truly went RETRO and gave us:
Surfer Sting 80’s Arn Anderson Another Jake the Snake 90’s Jim Ross 80’s/90’s Tony Shiavone Billy Gunn (has barely aged) 90’s/00s Jericho Natural Dustin Rhodes Nation-era Mark Henry Attitude era Matt Hardy Brood Christian Giant Paul Wight Taz 80’s Tully Blanchard Dean Malenko Jerry Lynn

Somehow, I’m more interested in LJNs than Hasbros. Perhaps because my Hasbro interest is through the floor but both feel like a waste of resources to me

Instead of focusing on these retro style figures they should be focusing on fixing some of the issues they have with their current style figures like the height issues, the head scans, and joints.

0% interest. No idea why companies think retros will be such a big hit. It's for a niche market from a line decades ago.

Also no interest. I much prefer legends figures in the same Unrivaled style.

I would be interested in these simply because they would (more than likely) be at a lower price point. Hopefully they would not have the same non-distribution problems that the main lines has. Can't buy them if you can't find them.

Don't understand the hate here; why not let people who are interested be interested, and see if they sell.

Don't understand the hate here; why not let people who are interested be interested, and see if they sell. Obviously people can like what they like, and there's at least some following for Hasbro style figures. But Jeremy also says they want to be a company that responds to collector feedback - that means positive and negative. I hope they take some lessons from the WWE line. The figures did pretty well at $10. The bumped the price point up to $15 and the line died in pretty short order. If there's a way to release these as a standalone, I'm all for it. People who want them can buy, those who don't won't. But if the plan is to work LJN and Hasbro style retros into existing lines and price points? Jeremy has said that a new line is fragile and figures backing up on pegs can literally be a line killer at retail for an unproven brand. I think these figures are a really hard sell at $20. Maybe I'm wrong. But it seems like a really big gamble to take that have huge ramifications if things go they way it's sounding.

They could be too reactive - the market seemingly wants retros looking on here, social media etc but they want retro’s for the people who were not made back then - Dino, brawler, barbarian etc not for modern day aew wrestlers it seems
