Rain?

Given this soggiest of weeks here in Texas, which we are not in the slightest used to long durations of, I was wondering how you all deal with it in the wetter areas of the world? I hate driving and walking in it, as I always end up like a wet dog, and working all day with wet socks is the worst. If it rains when I am not outside, it isn't that bad, but the humidity makes it a bit brutal. And as people know, we don't drive normal down here, and rain is either a slow crawl or full boar, no inbetween. We are truly crazy. Umbrellas, well, wind makes them less useful. Thanks for letting me lament. I hope others feel similar. As we say in my family...rain rain go away come again some other day. VPV

It’s been raining a lot lately for us too. I hate it. I deal with it by dealing with it then bitching about it for the rest of the day.

If I don’t have to go anywhere then I’m fine with rain. It can be relaxing.

It does not rain that much here in Northeast Philly/Bucks County. However our houses here have no storm drains in the yard so we can indeed get water in our 1st floors with a couple of inches of rain if it comes quickly all at once. Years ago, both of my neighbors had extensions built over their yard patios. This caused more water to come to me because I was/am boxed in and of course when it downpours like I said, and the yard can only hold so much, especially if it has rained recently. So then the water creeps to the house little by little until it comes in. What I did was had a roof put over the patio thinking that would stop a lot of the rain that directly comes at the house and it did help BUT that was short lived. Heavy rains still did the deed. So I had a drain and sump pump put in that will pump the water out to the very back of the yard when it gets to the patio before it hits the house. So far so good, it's been quite a few years and we had so close calls with heavy downpours where the sump could not pump it out as fast as the rain comes with the yard flooded. JS

Rainy/cool>Sunny/Hot any day of the week. Damn right, when it's not raining my area is so f*cking humid. Living near a river sucks. It gets hot and sweaty and smelly. But when it rains, all of the humidity and the river smell goes away. But when it stops raining it comes back two fold. I wish it would rain all summer and snow all winter lmao.

JS I had a similar problem years ago, with a slanted backyard. Towels had to be placed at the doorseal when heavy rains hit. No fun.

I worked as a cart pusher at Walmart for 9 years. I had to work in the rain sometimes. I hated that aspect of the job.

I delivered mail for two years and have been delivering pizza for five years now, so I’m totally used to the rain at this point. Don’t mind it. Much better than snow.

I love rain; I rather take cold or rain over heat. Only thing about heat is going swimming or wanting to get a extra burn while you run.
It don’t rain much in New Mexico. We do have a rainy season July through September. Some years it’s really bad some it isn’t. Usually we’re guaranteed to have one day a year where it rains like crazy. But we pay for it a little humidity plus the dessert heat is brutal really hot sunny weather with super thick air

I like the rain. Especially if it’s on a weekend and I don’t have anything going on. Cold rainy day to stay in bed and relax is a nice weekend. I also prefer rain instead of the hot and humidity.
