So my true passion is traveling internationally, but for obvious reasons that isn’t an option at the moment. So Ive decided to start checking out National Parks, starting with the Grand Canyon and Death Valley this past weekend. I’m vaccinated and travel safely to insure little risks and figure National Parks are a lot easier to do with keeping in social distancing. Though I did stay in Vegas because it was in the middle of the two parks. I just booked California for next month and plan on hitting up Yosemite and Sequoia at the very least. Plan is to just collect a magnet from each vistited too.
So, the reason for the thread is to ask if any of you have been to any parks? Any recommendations on ones I should check out? Yellowstone and Grand Teton are scheduled for this upcoming fall and the Smoky Mountains will be most likely in June.
If you’re interested in following along, my travel Instagram is Travelwells.

Apparently slang for going missing in the wilderness Ohhhh. Yeah I’d be fine with that. As long as I don’t die in Dayton.

Sounds awesome, would love to travel the US Parks system. I'm a big fan of overlanding and off-roading. With everything that's going on we plan to explore more of Canada. Next week I am driving across the country, pretty stoked. Have a great time, go where you want, be prepared and have a great time!

Cades Cove in the Smoky Mountains is the best place to visit. Its an 11 mile loop with a lot of historic things to see plus your typical scenery. You can do the loop any way you want but on Wednesdays I think there's no automobiles so you can ride a bike or walk it without having traffic. It tends to be a slow drive. 11 miles doesnt seem long but it will take you a couple hours to do it and thats assuming you dont stop (there are pull off areas)...bring food too cause you'll likely be there long enough to get hungry.
You can also hike trails like the Chimney tops or go to Clingmans Dome

That’s a great start! Love both DV and GC. I’ve explored both pretty extensively in the past and always love going back. Good memories there.
Yellowstone is a must see. It was a bucket list item for me and it was insane. So much wildlife there. Gorgeous scenery!

Yellowstone I’ve had to reschedule so I’m desperately looking forward to taking a couple weeks off this year and exploring all I can.

That's a sentence I never thought I'd hear. That's like saying "The Exciting State of Indiana". I would love to go fishing in Maine someday though.

Ive gone backpacking through the Grand Canyon but I think you need a permit these days and a reservation. Havasu falls is awesome, and the people living in havasupai are really nice and friendly!

When there is no restrictions, I recommend visiting my neck of the woods.
East coast of Canada has some really beautiful spots, great food and really decent people. Very close to Maine too.
