What are the odds ANYONE gets this? Did anyone get Mr T last year before the photo hint?

Yeah -- but I think that was a lot closer to SDCC, not April, right?

I think it was closer to SDCC (maybe Juneish). That wasn't the initial question though.
I think people have been speculating on 2021's SDCC exclusive since 2020 SDCC ended. I believe AFA also confirmed that with the success of Slim Jim Macho Man and Retro VHS Mr. T that they will be going in that direction going forward (believe he stated they kicked around ideas for the next several SDCC exclusives). They won't be doing obscure gimmicks like Shockmaster/Dr. Yankem for SDCC. I think that is why there is more speculation since we know more of the criteria (bigger names, wide appeal for general population/collection population, pop culture tie ins, etc.).

And he got added to the Champions mobile game in late 2019, I want to say? So people knew he was available.
I would also assume that novelty/retro packaging is a big part of the strategy going forward too. And since that's been really popular for NECA, it's not a surprise. Packaging in the style of old VHS boxes and video game cartridges is something I would expect to see at a lot of future SDCCs, so ideas people here have had like a No Holds Barred-themed exclusive definitely qualify. (If the turtleneck & fanny pack Rock gets made, I wouldn't be surprised to see it in a package that looks like the N64 No Mercy box).

Snoop isn’t gonna get people hyped the same as Mr. T or Slim Jim Macho. He’s had very little impact in WWE and don’t see many of the target audience that SDCC exclusives are aimed at really wanting a figure of him. For the "Golden Era or Bust" crowd, sure it's not getting them hyped. But for mainstream appeal and scalpers posting screenshots on eBay confirming their orders crowd, it ticks the boxes. We are at that point where anything "exclusive" is going to go fast because of the market right now. Especially if they make it an elite two pack with Sasha. It's not something i'd want but I can see it happening

That makes me wonder if thats when Mattel realized color swapping mainline box's wasn't good enough for exclusives cause there was a long time where exclusives looked awful MOC.

WWE owns the No Holds Barred movie (Vince financed it) so they don't have to worry about paying additional fees to a 3rd party. I would imagine something related would come sooner rather than later.
I'm still going with Mega Powers 2 pack and/or Hogan/Mr. T WM1 VHS packaging 2 pack though.

Oh yeah, NECA hit a goldmine with NES Jason way back. I think that changed the direction of SDCC exclusives for everyone. So many toy companies follow that formula now.

Boxing their figures period was a game changer for NECA IMO. The whole Ultimates thing really breathed new life in to them and I appreciate how that has trickled down to Mattel upping their packaging game with exclusives in general.

Rocky in the black turtleneck would really be the way to go in terms of mass appeal.

Side note, it sucks and her old theme was better.
