Well, I took the “extended” route and changed majors a couple of times, but this past December I finished school and earned my Bachelor’s. What’s your highest academic achievement thus far? Though it’s a cool thing to discuss that shows focus and discipline (or can), some of the hardest-working, and even highest-earning folks I know are ones without degrees. I am glad I finished what I started though. I think the college route is totally acceptable, as is the non-college route.

I was about 15 credits from graduating with an Anthropology major and a minor in Archaeology. I switched from Historic Preservation to Anthropology and many of the classes counted for anthropology. My father got cancer and I mentally could not deal with helping my father while he had cancer and doing college. I flunked out and went on academic suspension. They would not review my case and so i said them.

I have a BA in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in political science.
I am not, nor ever will be, in the field of journalism or poli sci. Go figure.

Bachelor's in Business Administration with Management Emphasis. I don't really use it. It was the quickest route out after changing majors a couple times. Pro tip, save money by knowing your wanted major before you start those classes after basics....I didn't. College looks nice, but experience seems to win out regardless, in the job market. If you know what you know, and are an inventor and/or entrepreneur, you are set; and straight up awesome.....I am not.

I just received my diploma for MBA! Went back to university a couple years ago to get a combined Masters in Business and Masters of Science in International Management (money grab). Not for everyone, but it did just help me land a great job. I'd say the course material is already forgotten but the skills in dealing with people, balancing deadlines etc. when the stakes were high were valuable.
I also have a Graduate Certificate (post university college program here) in Global Logistics and Supply Chain Management, and a B.A. in Political Science. I tried to go back to school for HR but dropped/flunked out. Thing of the past now.
I will say, my undergrad was a gong show. It's a three year degree and it took me 5 years. Too much stupidity on my part, learning disability, immaturity, pressure, lots of factors. I only picked Poli Sci because I had taken the most courses in it and it was time to get out of university.
In the grand scheme of things, its what works for you, your skills, goals, and learning style. Do you.

Majored in Education and English with a minor in philosophy. Got screwed out of the student teaching course, which would have been all I needed for the education part. The English part I got all the courses then they tried to say some of the classes I took didn't count, St. John's changed some stuff around and they had no clue what was what has I had 3 different changes in the few years I was there as the split the school into separate divisions. Then they tried to pull that I needed to take a 2nd foreign language as 1 of each Italian and Japanese didn't count needed 2 of the same but my education advisor found out they kept cancelling the 2nd parts and went to bat for me. One good thing about my education advisor when I took electives I took Business Law and Economics money and banking immediately signed off and allowed it since I thought outside the box to expand my horizons.
Long story short no teaching career for me, nor degree because I told them I was tired of their childish games trying to screw me out of more money for courses I didn't need to graduate with a regular bachelor's in English. Would have enjoyed teaching that's what my mind was set on doing.

When i transferred i lost most of my credits even though I was told they would transfer...the semester after i transferred the university had a transfer program and started accepting the credit from the CC i transferred from. So here i was 21 basically starting over, went until i was 25 when i left. It was weird because when i was 21 i was living on campus and was like the oldest in my entire dorm.

I got a certificate in website design and an associates degree in graphic design from community college. I was going to go for my bachelors degree but I wound up getting a job while still in college. Kind of wish I had the discipline to go to school for longer but I make decent money now based on my experience level and have a very small amount of student loans left.

I got my BBA in Accounting, then an MBA in Public Accounting with an Advanced Certificate in International Business. The Certificate is basically a minor. My MBA program required me to take 2 or 3 electives and my guidance counselor told me that there was an overlap situation with my core classes and if I used those electives on International Business classes, I’d graduate with an extra degree for the same tuition.
I’ve been working in accounting for almost 10 years now, and it sucks. I’m looking at taking online classes to get certifications in Project Management. Hopefully I can make a career pivot.

Graduated highschool and took 1 year of radio broadcasting. It was college radio station, but I got kicked off the air for making jokes like, "Here they are, the GREATEST duo in country music history................ Dolly Parton." They told me "people will get offended by that" and "there's already a Howard Stern." Those "innuendo jokes weren't acceptable." I wasn't happy, especially given the fact that students laughed. We only played through the halls of the school. Students were the target audience. I guess not.
One of my classes was Copywriting (creating advertisements). We had an assignment that was to write and produce a commercial about the teacher. I knew I wasn't returning the next year so I decided to take the "innuendo" to a whole new level. I wrote the commercial about her and "sold her" like it was a car advertisement. I went on about "great headlights." A strong "bumper" for those jolting rear end collisions. I talked about how she was "slightly used and only needed a little bit of body work." I mentioned that the "strange smells from under the hood" were nothing to worry about.
I had Val Venis' porn theme music playing in the background. Everybody in the class was laughing their ass off. Except the teacher of course. She was pissed off and got me kicked out of the class. I knew it would happen, but according to them the point of commercials was to get the product noticed and to make people remember the advertisement. That was my argument when they were telling me I was out.
They taught me something. I applied it. And then they said no. WTF? I took out a student loan (about 18 grand) to go to school. I got basically nothing from the year of classes, but I learned a good lesson at that age about finances. The loan is long paid off, I have a great job in the steel industry, and I stood up for myself back then when the people I was paying my money to were jerking me around.
It's 22 years later and I bet that teacher still remembers that commercial too. That's an A+ advertisement in my book.

I think High School ruined my perception of a education; and I just think I don't have the patience for schooling. Really cool to see everyone's degree's here and different studies. I am a certified Law Enforcement Officer in the Corrections spectrum.

I’d love to be in those classes with you lol. To answer the question, I got my film degree.
