It's funny - you guys hated religion, but you sure weren't Woke either (and still obviously aren't). You guys were like Joe Rogan before he even existed, a bunch of libertarians against the left and religious right. Not that any of you particularly care about politics, but you were kind of before your time. But, if you were late Gen Xers or early Millennials, I suppose that does make sense.

I miss the interviews with Corey. I think that was his name. His friend & co-worker would ask him random questions & his responses were freaking gold. "2 plus anything equals up!" And he always ended the clip with "Bye bye, Dan-Dans!"
I hope they're both doing well. I think they were from Chicago & worked in a record & video store.

I absolutely cannot believe that I can’t remember his original WFigs username, but you’re thinking of Ian. He has a YouTube channel that has blown the hell up, he's thriving lol youtube.com/user/616Entertainment

Everyone's out here reminiscing and sharing funny tales of old, and then wf member bARNXBEE pops in like: It's funny - you guys hated religion, but you sure weren't Woke either (and still obviously aren't). You guys were an online group at the time very critical of religion (and I was religious at the time, being a sophomore in high school, but way far to the left now, as we see with many in my generation), and you folks were and are also very critical of what we'd call then "political correctness" or, today, "Wokeness." You guys were a sociological group, and your behavior was shaped by your generation, personalities, economic backgrounds, countries, regions, etc. There's no doubt what you guys did then was online bullying though, something that people push back against today way more than they did then. I regret the fact that I spent some time involved in religious fundamentalism (mainly because it shuns so many other groups and sets of beliefs), but you guys were bullies (toward “closet crossdressers,” the religious, and anyone who overlapped into both groups) and I think made a Web site look bad that was supposed to be about children's action-figures and was targeted toward young people. Did the owner censor a lot of your content at the time? I don't see how he could have thought anything you guys did back then was "a good look." I think in 2021 you'd be canceled.

You're right...painting everyone in this thread with a broad brush and damning them all by association is a much, much better look. So is setting up this thread so that you can make yet another run at your periodic attempts to play in to a micro-level of cancellation by trying (and failing) to hold a bunch of what amounts to young adults "accountable" for sh*t talking that they partook in, mostly as teenagers. So is your holier-than-thou attempt to cast everyone in this thread in a negative light while blaming your own shortcomings in the past on your religion, rather than taking personal accountability for your own actions the way you're expecting everyone else to. TBH, you're sounding a lot like me back in the day, and I (and maybe layzie) will be the first to line up - under my own, original name and not some bullsh*t, thinly veiled "performance art" guise, mind you - and tell you that I was a proper douchebag back then. You'll probably find more of "you guys" in this thread that will do that than won't. The only person in this thread who hasn't changed a tick is you, bARNXBEE.

No one attempted to counter my religious fundamentalism with anything respectable, just vicious attacks ten times worse than religious fundamentalism. You were all simultaneously homophobic and anti-fundamentalist. If you’re admitting that your behavior back then was sociopathic and disturbing that’s a step forward, but look at the content in this thread. It’s anti-disability, anti-...my god, probably 150 various oppressed minority and sociological groups. 15 years later. You may have personally changed but it doesn’t seem like many have. I personally think most of the “old WF” members were and are nothing but a bunch of teenage wanna-be South Park writers. There’s a reason that culture is not ongoing. I doubt the owner liked it or saw dollar signs there. The Web site was marketed toward kids and still is. The culture has changed radically, too.

And how are you being any better, painting everyone here with the same brush. You're really going to sit there and tap out "you were all simultaneously homophobic and anti-fundamentalist", condemning everyone who's chimed in here regularly for this sort of behavior that could probably be chalked up to a handful at best, and not present any sort of evidence implicating "everyone"? Of course you are - because that's what you did then, and it's what you do now. You're not doing anything but pedestalizing yourself as some paragon of virtue. You're trying to "change the world" by setting traps on a wrestling figure message board to try and posit yourself above the small handful of folks who bought in to a nostalgia thread by dumping the whole of the early days of widespread internet accessibility on their shoulders because you felt wronged.

When I subscribed to fundamentalist Christianity on this site (perhaps September 2006-January 2007 at longest), I made a handful of posts that announced to the world I believe in the basic "tenets of the faith" - basically that all humans sin and need a first century Jewish rabbi's blood to serve as atonement. I never attacked anyone's personal behavior or language, but a few people decided they were so offended that they'd rip me to shreds for simultaneously the Christian beliefs themselves and the fact that I “was a closet crossdresser,” which came from a private message being turned public. As a matter of fact, the architect of that reveal doublecrossed me, having come to me with claims that he was interested in Christianity. I have no idea which individual person did which individual act, but a lot of disturbed people did a lot of things that the culture would have found to be abusive now and then. This thread doesn’t seem to show that much has changed. An anti-left, anti-Christian, anti-PC, South Park-like culture that’s all about survival of the fittest and attacking as many as possible for as much as possible. Again, there’s a reason this behavior doesn’t happen in 2021 and if it did, there’d be lots of locked threads. It’s not a good look for the owner.

I personally am glad i was bullied on here. I joined when i was twelve and practically "grew up" on WF. I remember there was a point where i was told to kill myself daily for months in the customs board because i sucked at customs, was arogant, and was a straight up bunghole. Being bullied made me learn about trolling and how to handle it. That being said i also was a troll for a long time. I im past that now that i am 30 years old and have a family. but no lie, 16 year old Dr. Angus was a very angry lonely kid who had moved to a new town and had 0 friends. WF was my "family" back then, whether or not people liked me or not. WF got me through some really hard times, and is probably why I am still alive to be honest. yeah i fought with pretty much everyone, but it gave me something to do. The culture of todays youth is so sensitive. These kids are offended by every single thing and they can not handle it. Back in the day you HAD to handle it, and if you couldnt you just didnt participate. Todays culture is basically just grooming kids to be sensitive. I cant imagine how the world will be in 10-20 years from now.

Also bits of anti-Semitism existed, I was open about the fact that my dad's side is Jewish, I was raised in Judaism (having been involved in it between birth and age 13, and still go to synagogue once a year for Yom Kippur), and was and am proud to be ethnically Jewish. The owner of this site is ethnically Jewish (you never stop being a Jew, regardless of what religion you practice). The same folks who attacked me for a plethora of above mentioned items also seem fixated with making fun of Jews.
