It’s only been a couple years and I’m already tired of the WWE vs AEW fan mindset. There isn’t an actual competition. You can like both. Him signing doesn’t hurt WWE. Good for him getting the paycheck. Honestly though, I haven’t given a damn about anything the guy has done since 2008, so this news doesn’t really matter to me. No one is telling you to choose a side. Enjoy what you enjoy!

BRB just going through my post history to delete all the times I complained that he is boring and should never be on TV again.

sorry but AEW signing another WWE or WCW star waaaaaaaaaaaaaay past their prime is not a big deal. Let me know when they steal away a star who has like 10 years of his prime left, They signed Moxley.

So I wonder what happened behind the scenes for him to leave WWE for AEW.

He will probably be putting ink on a new WWE contract by summer.

It's getting pretty boring and predictable to see almost every AEW fan gloss over yet another WWE talent who's been irrevelent for the last few years. huh? I'm not sure you know the meaning of gloss over, that means not take it as a big deal. isn't that exactly how AEW fans should perceive an irrelevant talent?

Crazy to think they just technically signed a man who was - just last year - in the main event of WrestleMania.

I think it is a huge sign for them. Big Show has been with WWE for so long and even though I hate a lot of their crappy storylines they gave him I'm sure he made really good money to want to stay for so long. So to me this would be like Hulk or Bret leaving for WCW. Just a guy going to another promotion you would absolutely never expect. Also, I'd imagine he was tight with Dusty in the 1990s or early 2000s and in that case I can see him wanting to work with Dusty's son. Whether or not WWE continues for decades to come, I would love to see AEW sign anyone and everyone they can from past WWE and let's see how they fair. I am happy for this sign for them and for their success. I would love to hear what Cody and Tony's business model is. I doubt it's a LIE about "helping yourself while not hurting the other guy." He will probably be putting ink on a new WWE contract by summer. I would hate to see this become a UWF/Andre situation but I think AEW is at least established enough for wrestlers to know they are getting a good deal. It's probably better Herb's deal with Andre never went too far. If his check to Andre bounced I can see Andre in early 1991 being able to beat him badly.

Nope, can't be like that, the rules are if you like WWE you have to troll and make fun of the AEW fans and vice versa if you're an AEW fan. As you can see by some of the regulars who spew that crap in this thread already.

A pretty monumental signing just due to the fact that this month marked the 22 year anniversary of Big Show debuting in WWE. He has been with the company longer than a good portion of members on this board have been alive. At this late stage of his career, it just seemed like he was going to be a lifer. I'm sure he's being handsomely compensated which is great for him and his family.
I doubt he will be featured prominently as an in-ring performer, but it's easy to forget that Big Show is probably in the best shape of his life and might be looking for one last decent run before hanging up the boots.

He will probably be putting ink on a new WWE contract by summer. How do you figure? This contract would have to be for like...four months. I don't see AEW or Wight doing something like that.

Just goes to show that AEW can sign any WWE names just like WCW did.

I still don’t think any signing for AEW has been more impactful than Jericho. Huge name, literally made a group of relative nobodies (I’m sure there were tons of people who had never even seen most of the Inner Circle guys before) into huge stars, he’s a massive cheerleader and promoter for the company, he puts over a lot of guys, and uses all of his other media endeavors to promote AEW.

Big Show is one of very few genuine household names left in the business. Past his prime or not. I have no horse in this race but this is great for aew.
