Hell Bret said he didn’t mind dropping the title to anyone but hbk He has said in other interviews that they knew the next program was Shamrock and HBK so he wanted to drop it to Shamrock the night before in Detroit and then have HBK beat Shamrock for the belt at IYH. But yea he said he would drop it to anyone but Shawn in Montreal any other night. |

Hell Bret said he didn’t mind dropping the title to anyone but hbk Yeah, he has said for years, and I think he even put it in his book, that he was willing to drop it to any but Shawn because he felt Shawn disrespected him. I believe he said that he had told the office that he was willing to drop it to Taker or Austin, both guys he was working with at the time prior to Survivor Series. |

On the bio episode Bret even said that at first he went to Shawn and told him he wanted him to know he was fine with dropping the belt to him, and Shawn responded with a thank you and said he wanted Bret to know he wouldn't do the same thing for him.  That was the straw that broke the camel's back, and Bret said he wouldn't drop it to someone who didn't respect him. |
