I'm not an AEW fan, but so far there have been figures of guys I liked in Impact (Lucha Bros) and general indies (the Bucks), so it's been nice to be able to get Elite-style figures of them.
Some of the other figures (like Darby and OC) just look really cool, so I couldn't pass on them.
I'm looking forward to Santana & Ortiz to add to my lineup of ex-Impact guys - and I'm really hoping for a Brian Cage soon too.

My only issue is how wrestling fans seem to be disproportionately interested in promotion wars. Like I have to ride or die with a promotion and hate everything else. It's like console wars in the 90s, but we seem to have largely grown out of that. In any wrestling discussion online, mention a promotion that is not the one you're discussing and watch people lose their minds to tell you how crapeverything else is. I guess it's an inevitable side effect of encouraging people to mark out for something, but it's so childish and reductive it makes me not want to interact with other wrestling fans.
But I digress, as Taz would say too much.

I also really like Hangman Page for reasons I'm not about to get into on here. Aw man, that's cruel. Now I'm trying to imagine what that would be and why one would refuse to get into it. *chuckle*

I’m kind of a casual fan. I watch Dynamite, but that’s about it. The figures are great though, and each wave has significant improvements. Yeah this is me... I watch Dynamite, but I'm not invested in it - it's largely forgettable to me. I mainly watch it for Jericho and MJF. As for the figures, I obviously bought Jericho (three in fact), because they actually bothered to do his sleeve, and MJF. I've always wanted a non-Goldust, Dustin and a Penta, so they're in my collection. I can respect how Orange Cassidy has got himself over - so I bought him, mostly for the novelty factor. Not really a fan of Allin - but he looks cool, so he's in. Not into Ortiz and Santana enough to get them - plus they hid Ortiz's tats. I wiil be getting Luchasaurus, Butcher, Archer maybe Sabian whenever they're made - mostly because of the tats. Once they're made I'll likely be done with AEW figs. I also will be getting the upcoming Omega - which I didn't expect to want, but he's grown on me, since the heel turn. It's also a much better figure than series one. You won't see me buying scrubs like Sammy Guevara or Britt Baker though... and I've never bought a Cody Rhodes figure in my life - and I'm not about to start now. Also, if I could find a way of covering that AEW logo on the boxes, I would - I'm that petty, lol.

AEW is probably my favorite promotion right now, but not because it's "AEDUB" it's because right now they have the roster I enjoy most and the style I enjoy most. They still do things I think suck though, and there's still a ton of wrestlers I enjoy watching in NXT/WWE.

I'm not the biggest fan of AEW yet.
With that, I'm not really planning on collecting the line. I was originally going to buy the Series 1 Jericho, but never ended up pulling the trigger on it.
The only AEW figure/s I plan on buying now, are any and all Brodie Lee's they make, as well as the newest Matt Hardy whenever it comes back in stock. If Chris Hero & Jeff Hardy ever sign with them one day, I'll get their figures too.

When it comes to the AEW hate, to each their own I suppose. I personally don't get the hate for AEW as not too many people have real reasons other than it's the cool thing to dislike AEW or because people listen to Cornette. I don't know. Maybe someone can fill in that blank for me. I love AEW. I don't think they're flawless. Wrestling isn't perfect. It never even was. But, in an era that we are in, it's easier to bash something than it is to compliment. I love the figures but there are many problems that bothered me like the first wave's skin tones, Adam Page's boots, Dustin's height and a few other things. Then again, each wave had problems. All of you guys probably remember the first few waves of the Jakks TTL figures where Stone Cold and Taker looked like they were dipped in some type of acid. The early Mattel scans were very plain looking but overtime improved. Everything will improve with the AEW line and Series 4 looks amazing. I think there are more than a few different anti-AEW camps. But most common seem to be people who are just accustomed to WWE's product. Which is fine - but it's been the only readily available wrestling in the past 20 years, and the product and in ring style has always had a very distinct and specific template going back to the territory days. Some people like what they like or is familiar and anything else is terrible in their eyes. You also have the 20 year narrative that there was this "war" with WCW, which was mostly grudge in Vince's mind and a dash of Bischoff's ego. Pretty much everybody I knew at the time was watching WCW, WWF, and ECW. But it's a really good way to build brand loyalty to tell your audience that you smashed the only competition into oblivion. I'm a big AEW fan and am loving the figure line. But there are definitely cases where I find myself buying figures of brands I'm not really a fan of. I have a decent sized ML collection of Spider Man villains, even though I can't stand Spider Man. Don't have a single Spidey figure, but I have most of his rogues gallery because they're unique characters who make really cool figures. Well what is interesting is, if you go back and watch the older garden matches from 77-78, sure some of the rest holds and timing feel similar but they were working regular matches. Down the line toward 2005 is really when the structure of the shows for both Smackdown and Raw changed. It became more working around TV than TV working around the wrestling. It doesn't at all feel like what it did in the territories. What you see within AEW, the pace they work, is fairly closer to a Chiefjay Strongbow vs. Ken Patera match as terms of comebacks and selling and pace more than a match between Randy Orton vs. Drew McIntyre. WWE just developed a very TV centric ring style that American fans got used to. People like myself (and I would assume yourself) Who are familiar with other promotions and territories of years past, to the indies and promotions now, understand that Wrestling is just much more enjoyable when it feels organic. I was at a Smackdown taping in 2008 and I recall Triple H going to put Morrison through a table and it didn't break. So, Triple H got another one, did that exact spot over so it would break, and they filmed and edited it like the mess up never happened. I was only 16 at that time and thought "This isn't Wrestling." So I mean if people are used to the WWE style, right on. I just feel the organic nature of AEW to be much more enjoyable. Lastly, I am a casual comic fan so I do have the key people of Marvel and DC. But, there isn't really anything I collect if I am not much of a fan. Though, not being a star wars fan really, I wouldn't mind some of the more recent model kits as those really are toyetic.
