I’ve given up on the Hart Foundation 97. I have King of the Ring Bret and I’ve been looking at getting the jacket from DM. I also have Neidhart. Both sitting MIB waiting on a Bulldog and Pillman that seem to never come. Not paying in the area of $500 for two figures. Don’t understand why Mattel can’t at the least give us another Bulldog with his leather Hart Foundation vest or a Bret with his jacket.

I don’t think Bret would want a figure released from this match. In a way it would seem like Mattel is celebrating what happened. Bret came back to WWE and made money off of this match and what happened so I doubt he would throw a huge fit over this. |

I don’t think Bret would want a figure released from this match. In a way it would seem like Mattel is celebrating what happened. Fair point actually. For us as fans enough time may have passed where we look back it the screwjob and just go "oh whatever". But for Bret, leaving the WWE for WCW sent his career on a downward spiral, and he subsequently had a ton of terrible things happen including his stroke and losing some family members. I'm sure Bret doesn't look back at that event fondly. Not to say the Montreal screwjob was the catalyst for all of those hardships, but you gotta think the whole thing affected him deeper than we know. You two are looking wayyyyyyy too into it. I’m sure he’s worn that attire in other matches. Mattel wouldn’t release this as a “celebration” Mattel has already released HBK from that match, UE Jakks had previously released these figures AND slapped a “Montreal Screwjob” sticker on it, and if memory serves right, there were no issues with that release. Most importantly, we’re not Bret! This version/attire of Bret should only be viewed as another Bret to add to our collection. .......or Fed, or whatever else others do with these figures |
