Nice match with AJ/Kenny, interesting ending with AJ picking up a cheap victory. Glad next week’s show, we’ll have the Can Am/Iconeers tag match (hopefully) should be a good one!

I expect one or both of these teams could be tag team champion material in the future. I’ve already had belts on Sting in the past, but with a different partner, so it’s like a foregone conclusion.

Control Ranallo: "Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of Control. Control is the Xtreme pre-show that we have been doing for a while now, sort of to test the waters while we consider potential adding more shows to our traditional lineup. This should be a good one as The Iconeers are out to prove that they deserve to be the next team to challenge the destructive reign of The Monster Trucks, after The Nightmare Family take their shot later tonight, of course. The Iconeers currently have a better claim to that than do the New Can Am Connection, but that could change after this matchup. The Iconeers also have to keep eyes in the back of their head as who knows what kind of influence Petey Williams could have over this match at ringside. It looks like the competitors are ready, so let’s send it into the ring.” The New Can Am Connection (Manager: Petey Williams) vs. The Iconeers Just as Mauro finished that sentence, Jerry Lynn jumped Rick Martel and began pounding away at him in the corner for a solid minute. The bell sounds. He continues, until he begins biting Martel on the ear and side of the head, so the referee, Slick Johnson, is forced to create some separation. They are separated long enough for Martel to make the Tag into Steiner. Steiner comes in and delivers a couple of shoulder blocks, but Lynn manages to remain on his feet. Steiner tries to put him in a headlock, Lynn reverses it and goes for an armbar, but Steiner reverses that and tries an abdominal stretch. The two come to a stalemate attempting to exchange holds. Steiner gets the better of it by tossing Lynn into an armbar, then lifting him up, sending him off the ropes, and dropping him with an uppercut. Tag into Sting and Martel. Sting grabs Martel by the arm and hits a series of shoulder blocks causing Martel to crumple to the mat. Sting takes him with a double leg takedown, then a splash while he’s on the mat. Sting sends him into the corner, delivers an uppercut, and follows it up with a big shoulder. He sends him into his corner, delivers another European uppercut, and Tags into Jerry Lynn. Lynn measures him and hits a couple of right hands, stomps on him, and pulls him out to use a reverse chinlock. With the hold still applied, Lynn begins delivering pointed elbows right into the shoulder blade. Lynn motions for Sting to come in, Lynn with the irish whip, Sting puts Martel down with a big chop and then goes and kicks Steiner off the apron. Ranallo: “Remember Williams is far more effective than he might look. He is a former TNT Champion after all and that was no accident.” Lynn begins chopping away and Martel and delivers a strong headbutt. Martel tried to kick him off, but Lynn hits an elbow to the face and starts grinding his elbow into Martel’s face. Tag into Sting. Sting delivers a series of shoulder blocks to Martel’s back in the corner, and then puts him in a front facelock. Sting hits a modified bulldog, and then rolls him over for the cover. 1…broken up by Steiner. Tag into Lynn. Lynn kicks Martel in the midsection and whips him hard into the turnbuckle so he bounces off and hits the mat face first. Lynn knees him in the gut and delivers a right to the face before hitting three consecutive back breakers. Lynn then goes over and gets in Steiner’s face while he has Martel grounded for the moment. Lynn turns back around and goes for a seated senton, but Martel is able to roll out of the way. Martel gets the Tag to Steiner. Steiner barrels through Lynn with a shoulder tackle and hits a standing headbutt. Then he mounts Lynn and rains down a barrage of rights and lefts to the face before kicking the man while he’s down. Steiner waits for Lynn to get to a knee and gives him a running bulldog. Tag back into Martel and he hits an immediate crossbody. He dodges a strike from Sting and takes him down with a hurricanrana. The distraction allowed Lynn to catch Martel with a splash while he was down on the mat after the hurricanrana. Sting recovers and gives Steiner a basement dropkick to the knee, causing him to fall and bounce chin first off the apron to the ringside area below. Lynn with a backbreaker on Martel. Lynn motions to Sting and their ready for their finisher, which is Lynn’s cradle piledriver directly into Sting’s scorpion deathlock, but Williams slides in the ring now. Slick Johnson gets in his path and they start arguing in the center of the ring. Steiner slides back in and hits a standing dropkick on Sting to send him to the outside. Steiner gets in the referee’s face now and, while his back his turned, Williams hits a suicide dive on to Sting on the outside. Martel goes for a discus clothesline on Lynn, but Lynn pulls Steiner into the line of fire and Martel takes out his own tag team partner! Lynn springboards off the middle rope and catches Martel with a reverse DDT. Lynn with the cover. Williams tries to slide in to break it up, but Sting pulls him back out of the ring. 1…2…3! Here are your winners via pinfall (springboard reverse DDT): The Iconeers Ranallo: “Absolutely fantastic tag team wrestling. Sting and Lynn overcome the disadvantage of the three on two to take this one. What an amazing pre-show. Fantastic way to welcome us into Xtreme this week. Not only that, but a great way to welcome my new broadcast partner to the booth and the program as our long search through the applicants has finally come to an end. Please join me and welcoming…. Nigel McGuinness .”

No votes received. Logo is the intellectual property of dcw1. Control Ranallo: "Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of Control. Control is the Xtreme pre-show that we have been doing for a while now, sort of to test the waters while we consider potentially adding more shows to our traditional lineup. Mauro Ranallo here with you as usual, but here with me for his first ever time hosting control is…Nigel McGuinness. How are things, Nigel?”
McGuinness: “I feel like I’m on the wrong side of the table, but otherwise fine.”
Ranallo: “I know you’d hoped your debut for this show would be in the squared circle.”
McGuinness: “One day soon I will still do just that, but, until then, I will be the best person sitting behind this desk.”
Ranallo: “Well alright, I look forward to calling everything right down the middle with you, and we have a great one to start us off with. One half of our Xtreme Tag Team Champions, Umaga, is in action and is set to take on a man who is currently one half of the number one ranked tag team set to face him in Tazz.”
Roberts: “Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is set for one fall with a 10-minute time limit and is presented to you by the Xtreme Tag Team division. Introducing first, he is currently one half of the number one ranked tag team, standing at 5’9, weighing in at 240lbs, from the Red Hook Section of Brooklyn, New York, he is the human suplex machine, Tazz! And introducing his opponent, making his way down the aisle, he is one half of the current, reigning, and defending Xtreme Tag Team Champions of the world. He stands at 6’4, weighs in at 350lbs, from the Isle of Samoa, he is the samoan bulldozer, Umaga! When the bell rings, the man in charge, WWX official, Mr. Rudy Charles.” Ranallo: “The WWX wants to bring you a little bit of everything and they may not hit the mark every time, but that is a champion in that ring. We are kicking things off right tonight.” Umaga screams into the camera as Charles signals for the bell. The bell dings. Umaga vs. TazzTazz is up on the apron, posing for the crowd, and Umaga attacks him from behind. Umaga is raining down blows in the corner. Umaga sends him off the ropes, but Tazz is able to duck the clothesline. Tazz takes him off his feet with a diving charge right on the left leg. Tazz drags him back to his feet and slams him head first off the turnbuckle. Tazz shoves his elbow into Umaga’s face and sets to work on him with the knife edge chops. Umaga is dazed, sitting on the canvas, and Tazz delivers a big knee to the face. Tazz bounces him head first off the turnbuckle once more and begins the corner mount. He gets the ten count with the fans chanting with him and ends it with a headbutt for good measure. Tazz with a forearm shot to the face, and then tries to irish whip him across the ring, but it’s reversed. Umaga lifts Tazz up and drops him with a powerslam. Cover: 1..kick out. Umaga backs Rudy Charles into the corner and it is a tense staredown, but Tazz rolls him up from behind: 1..Umaga powers out. They both make their way to their feet and Umaga floors him with a lariat. Umaga steps over the chest, lifts him up, and delivers the Samoan drop for a cover: 1…2..shoulder up! Umaga looks like he is going to get in Charles’ face again, but instead begins clubbing Tazz’s back while he’s slowly getting up. Umaga bouncing Tazz’s head off the turnbuckle now goes for an irish whip, but Tazz reverses it and pulls Umaga in for a series of forearm shots to the face. Tazz goes back to the chops in the corner, pulls Umaga out, and catches him with a side Russian leg sweep. Tazz flips him over and locks in a rear naked choke, Tazz might have his fingers pushed in to Umaga’s throat but Charles’ vision is obscured, and Umaga is unable to answer Charles’ count after his arm fell three times.Roberts: “Here is your winner as a result of a TKO, the human suplex machine, Tazz!”
Ranallo: “Tazz is known for saying win if you can, survive if I let you, well, it looks Umaga did not survive as he is actually being stretchered out of the ring right now. Tazz is as extreme as they come, and he just scored a victory over one of the Xtreme Tag Team Champions.”
McGuinness: “As Umaga is being carted away, let me remind everyone about WWX.com, it contains all the latest information about upcoming events, so when I make my in-ring debut, you will be the first to know it!”

Nice to see Xtreme making a return! McGuinness making his debut soon should be good. I like the idea of Tazz/Umaga, a match full of stiff strikes and I like the fact Tazz used his submission to get the win. A massive spot in this match could of been Umaga going for a middle rope splash but Tazz gets to his feet and suplexes him off the middle rope. Good stuff though, let’s see what else Xtreme brings!

I'm going to try to stay on top of things because I'm very excited about certain things, but I'm too behind to do them just yet. Not sure on McGuinness, maybe that was just a tease. Tazz and Umaga will meet in the ring again, I'm sure of it.
