These store exclusives are such a joke. I wish Mattel and the other toy lines focused more to online specialty stores like ringside and specialty stores like comic shops. If it wasn't for ringside and other specialty stores I'd just quit. Walmart and target get me in their stores of course to look for these..but their goal is for you to buy other stuff. If they don't have the figs I just leave and go to Kroger or Walgreen's for my other stuff I need groceries and ect. If they don't have your figures don't shop there spend your money somewhere else.

Never saw DOD Undertaker one time. Saw Mark Henry once. Only saw a couple of E79 Takers
other than Hurricane I think I’ve found everything else released throughout the year

Star Wars

Target - never saw a Remnant Stormtrooper exclusive. Never even found a non exclusive Stormtrooper from The Mandalorian. Or much of anybody else besides Luke, Han or Leia

Never saw Plo Kloon, Kit Fisto, Geonosis Battle Droids, etc

Wal Mart - the Clone Wars set exclusives were nowhere to be found


GI Joe

Target exclusive’s - saw one Cobra Trooper, ZERO Beach Heads, Vipers, Firefly or Baroness. And rarely ever saw any of the non exclusive mainline at Target or Wal Mart

The only thing I have never seen in any stores was the Venomized Cap. Not sure what happened with that release


So it’s not just Mattel now, it’s most of these lines. At least with Joe, Legebds and SW there’s numerous online retailers that carry them, so you can get them most of the time (non exclusives)

There's also Facebook groups and Discord chats devoted to anything that's store exclusive or limited. They work together to know when the stuff is hitting so they can get it and flip. I learned about it through the vinyl record community.

I don’t do the wait in line at store openings or honestly even check brickseek or anything

I just travel co Stanton and stop in at a ton of WM’s and Targets So that was just my experience of not finding that stuff. Obviously it hit places but not nearly enough, to keep up with the demand

I have friends at at a couple Target that are in charge of the backroom and trucks that texts me when stuff comes in. With one Walmart we are there at least 5 days a week and I check Brickseek a couple times a day for all the area stores.

It’s definitely spotty distribution. Some places get a ton, and others order little to none. I live in an area with quite a few Walmart’s and a couple I could walk into and grab whatever, but most of course all they have left are Ortons and Natalyas.

My one store got the display cube a couple months ago and when I got there that day only the Mark Henry was missing. That was around 6 pm Two days later we went back there at 8am and the cube was completely gone.

This isn't directed towards you, but I see a lot of people on social media basically making the argument that "pay scalper prices or get out of the game" or "you have to show how dedicated you are" to collect.  And it's such a toxic mentality.  Especially for an industry that are supposed to cater to children who can't exactly go to the store whenever they please, and adult collectors who (usually) have jobs and families.

These are mass market toys.  The expectation shouldn't be that we need compulsively check stores hoping for the privilege of lucky timing to buy a toy.  The impetus should lie on manufacturers and retailers to to a) order sufficient quantities to meet demand and b) have something resembling logical distribution and timelines with decent marketing and communication to their customer base.

For sure. My response was a bit of sarcasm mixed with reality. It sucks we have to do this, but it’s been this way for awhile now. I love collecting, but sometimes I have to joke about how crazy it can be checking trackers daily, stopping at a WM or Target even if I don’t need anything else, checking Amazon, eBay, RS damaged section....it’s a bit obsessive, but that plus scalpers is what you’re up against. And the occasional kids I guess.

Either amazon or (insert name here) discount store.

Walmart sucks but at least they are still buying shippers for some of there stores.

Target is so god awful I just dont see the point of them selling wwe figures anymore.

Mattel should get there product into hobby lobby. Get some dedicated shelf space, and pull the plug on target.
