Not figures, since I'm pretty well caught up. But I'm definitely looking forward to a buyer's market for a lot of collectibles. I've seen a lot of people new to collecting come into different hobbies since the pandemic thinking everything they buy will turn to gold. There will be tears. You think this will finally pop the funko pop bubble? Honestly, I think they'll hold prices better than a lot of stuff. They've cultivated absurd brand loyalty. That line has been a masterclass in toy marketing.

I've only been collecting for a year and a half and have noticed just in that time frame a significant jump. I've been extremely lucky with finding so many figures at a great or decent price I didn't mind the few times I seemed to have overspend. Sad thing now is my list of a handful of older figures I need are only the most expensive ones like Martel, Bundy and Akeem so I'm not optimistic I'll ever get those but I'm very happy with my collection so far.

I’m going to wait and comment on next week’s new thread about this “trend”. I don’t hang out here every day and read everything, tough guy. I and others are just discussing and communicating about this subject. If it bothers you and is so redundant to your precious time, don’t read the thread.

It’s not just wrestling figures it’s all collectibles picking up and becoming more mainstream. Look into sports cards if you want to see crazy price jumps over the past year or two

Someone’s wound a little too tight. And I don’t think it’s ridiculous to note a 3 page thread on the second page. It’s not exactly buried, brother.

Goodness.. I was looking up sold listings on stuff out of curiosity. What SES Punk is selling for, even loose, is crazy. I am thankful I have one. I don't regret opening any of my figures, but it is just wild to think about what it could of all been worth.

I wouldn't say these are OLD, old figs, but they're pretty old. I remember when the SH Figuarts randomly popped up on RSC for really dirt cheap two years ago and you could get Rock, Austin, and Hunter for $5 each. With Taker and Kane, you could get both of them for about $25-$30 a piece. Now, the price hasn't skyrocketed that much for the former (the price is pretty much how SH Figuarts are priced regularly anyways), but the latter, it's way up in the hundreds now.

Just wondered about it — and it was a Hacksaw Jim Duggan reference. Carry on, tough guys.

It's very hard to find any damn figure in a store now. I went through phase of very to little no collecting between 2015-2018. Trying to find figures from that time period; is so damn overpriced. Just; like even a very causal attire. It's pretty damn aggravating. I wanted to be another WM 24 Edge; to put decals on it and make it into a RR 2008 Edge; and yeah no that's a fortune.
I been trying to find Hall of Champions Taker; for not fortune. It's just so damn hard; where yet I can punch in most Jakks RA that are loose in good condition and still score it for a good deal.

I remember when elites from a few series ago on Amazon would go for below and sometimes even half of retail price, nowadays it seems like once sets are gone the price drastically increases, ironically the set the started this trend was elite 69 which a lot of people were getting at Walmart for $7 a piece.

I am still bitter over the cancellation of the Mighty Ducks wave.

Nevermind a year. It seems like once the current sets sell out on Ringside and are no longer available anywhere else online, the price will instantly skyrocket. I think a lot of it is the whole nostalgia surge right now. Those who grew up when these things were popular are now adults with kids of their own, and are looking to recapture the enjoyment of their youth.
I think that the Major Podcast can also be to "blame" for bringing so much attention back to our wonderful hobby.
The elite line is more popular than ever. And with the insane demand for AEW now as well, it will only get bigger.

For the first year or two I collected I rarely paid over $10 a figure. In store sales, K-Mart closings, Amazon warehouse, and even most of the legends I wanted could be had around $10 loose on ebay. And that was 2016-2017, so it's not like it was a decade ago. But I think there are waaaaay fewer figures being produced than then. Stores would get 4-5 cases of product at a time, and now they maybe get one case of a new wave.

I was away for so dang long. Didn't get back into the game until about 2017. My first order back was a RSC haul that included Shane and Steph from E50, B68A Dana Brooke, and B70 Brie and Carmella. I ended up losing the E50 Steph somewhere (rebought it recently, I looked everywhere) and of the 3 basics, only the Dana figure is still on display. I've come so far since then with new figures and getting Elites... but there's also so dang much I missed.
Some figures I've been trying to get from before then but the price is just too dang steep steep...
E13 Edge Network Spotlight Undertaker Elite MITB Carmella Defining Moments Sting (Complete) E16 Diesel E17 Mankind E38 APA E45 Dudleyz B11 Eve B15 Layla B31 Rosa Mendes
Believe it or not, that's a short list, and just the ones from before I started collecting again. There's many more that I passed on while I was collecting that have now gone way up and I can't get any longer. It's extremely frustrating and I need to bite the bullet and shell out the prices for some of these, before they become completely impossible to get.
