Aside from the wet fart ending, really thoroughly enjoyed most of the show. Don’t order AEW events much until they drop down to 20$ on B/R.
Mox/Omega has become the Rock/Austin of AEW. Every time these guys fight, it’s magic. The cinematic street fight was really well put together. Cage is a monster, Darby is a star, Team Taz needs a win soon though. The ladder match was decent, a fan of Scorpio so good to see a W for him. I wish they were doing more with Archer.
Only negatives for me were some of the pyro in the main event. Like for example if you claim there’s c4 on the floor don’t keep showing replays that clearly show two little pyrotechnics nowhere near either guy. But to be fair that most got erased by the sparkler display at the end.
And as much as I’m probably going to get hate for this I’m gonna say it anyways, the false finishes need to be tamed a bit. If you’re the opening match or even the next 3-4 matches that followed like save some suspense for the main event. The most notable was during the tag match where Matt Jackson took a bat shot and a heat seeker and still kicked out. If you’re going to do that it needs to be the end of the match.
Otherwise really solid PPV and enjoyed it a lot. Excited to see Christian Cage get a legit opportunity. His TNA run was spectacular, and if they give him the chance in AEW he could certainly put on some classics with Omega, Cody, etc...

Calling him a PoS is a bit much? For false advertising a PPV card that people are going to pay for? Yeah I think I'm pretty much on the mark. How do you survive a near-fatal blood clot, only to be negative about a single individual action? I don't understand it. Sure, you may not like it, but this dude (TK), by all accounts, actually treats his employees like human beings. Far from a PoS. I'm not trying to blindly defend a rich dude, or anything, but I would much rather experience this than knowing all of the money I spent in the 90s went to people who, by all accounts, were not very good people.

Whoever setup the explosives to go off at the end of the match is getting fired. Needed more Ka-boom to fulfill the hype and justifying Eddie Kingston lying onto of Moxley so long. The match was great before that, but could have done without the Good Brother interference. This wasn’t the end of Moxley, now he’ll have Eddie to ride shotgun as he goes after Omega.. Very entertaining PPV for me 👍🏻👍🏻

I bet Nakazawa messed with something. The only solace from that shart of an ending is going to be the inevitable bte gold that comes from it

The troll is just upset TK didn’t put a 60 year old Sting with serious health issues in an actual match. This was the best option for Sting and really should be the only way they utilize him in matches. Anything outside of cinematic matches and it’s a huge risk.

I’ve never been a big Bucks fan and this is one of the reasons. Outside of the too many big-moves and false finishes, they no-sold at the end (which has always been one of my big issues with them).

Was a fine show I think. Was it worth $50? That’s subjective. I just want Christian to succeed, despite not being able to think of any dream matches I have for him with the AEW roster.

I also agree about false finishes. I think some matches warrant them for sure, but they 100% get overused. It's very much an industry wide problem too.

That main event was slow and COMPLETELY failed with that ending. That was a botch for the ages that killed that match. There's no need to "yeah but" that thing. If you went to a live play, musical, or concert and they blew the big finale LIKE THAT you wouldn't be happy.
The Sting/Allin - Cage/Starks match was not what they advertised. I hate cinematic matches, thus, fail. The commentating over top of it was almost as atrocious as the movie itself.
Christian signing doesn't do much for me. This company already has enough guys and not enough TV time for them.
There were some nice spots in the ladder match but I thought it ended flat.
Hangman took too long to beat Hardy. That was a Dynamite quality match.
I'm not sure where they're going with Miro intentionally shoving Orange Cassidy into Penelope. That's a good incarnation of Miro though.
I thought the women's match was good but too long.
I liked Fenix and Pac winning the tag team battle royal. The match was way too much action in the middle of the ring with everyone else just leaning against the ropes pretending to be tired or hurt. Few guys were fighting or trying to eliminate someone. They just waited there while the guys in the middle got their spots in.
And I liked the opener with the Bucks and Jerico/MJF. I thought they kept up a quick pace which I wasn't expecting with Jericho in there.
The Death Match and Sting's 1st match were the big draws here and neither delivered in my eyes. As an episode of Dynamite this worked. As a 50 dollar PPV it failed.

I give the show as a whole a B-
I love AEW, and still enjoy anything they do more than WWE. As WWE has become so watered down, boring, and predictable. But tonight had a couple rough moments. Here is my breakdown.
** Bucks Vs MJF and Jericho, and the Battle Royale were fun and enjoyable. So right off I'm having fun.
** But then, that Women's Championship match was awful. Really took me out of it.
**Kip Sabian and Miro vs Chuck and Cassidy was average. But I still was over all interested because I want Miro to keep winning, then beat the hell out of Sabian and be a singles star. With his look, and ability in the ring, AEW needs to run with him and make him a main event star. But still, this match felt more like a beatdown than an actual bout.
** Hangman vs Matt was enjoyable. Hangman is definitely a future World Champion, perhaps even the NEXT AEW World Champion. This was a good win, and perhaps his relationship with Dark order will be the back up needed to face Omega and the Good Brothers some day.
** Ladder Match was A lot of fun. Some cool spots, and nice to see Sky get the win. Though I would have loved to seen Archer or Penta win as well. Ethan Page was a cool surprise, and while not the biggest signing ever, he is a good talent to have.
** Christian Cage. First off, one of my all time favorites. I have loved him an Edge their entire careers. But really? Can he have a match at this point safely, and without getting another concussion? I wish AEW would sign some younger, more reliable to work longer talent. CM Punk would have been so much better, and even though they are a tag team, and weren't going to be this big signing, Enzo and Cass would have been great additions that made more sense than Christian.
Still, I love Christian and wish him the best. Hope he stays safe, and can add something to the show.
But having him walk out, sign a contract, and say nothing after all the hype was also lame.
**Street Fight. Another cool pre recorder match. Everyone looked strong and there were some really fun spots. But PLEASE start giving team Taz big wins. They are just too good to be wasted.
** Main Event. Fun match, lots of good spots, and I loved the One Winged Angel on the chair. But holy **** that final explosion was the lamest, most pathetic thing I've seen in a while.
So overall I enjoyed, but some things happened on this PPV that felt like a step backwards, and not a step forwards. Hopefully they get things going on track a bit better. You don't want people paying $50 to be disappointed or board at points. But this is the first AEW PPV where there have ever been moments I felt those things.

If you're an AEW fan, you're used to dynamite having a pretty high standard. Where do you go from there? It's really tough to upgrade from a semi-free weekly tv show to a $50 PPV, when you're used to putting on a high quality product week to week. You can try with gimmick matches, etc, but ultimately, the in ring quality is already pretty damn high for the majority of dynamite matches, it becomes very tough to one-up that.

Imagine being so upset because you couldn’t watch broke neck Brandon Lee wrestle a real match in his 50s.
Literally everyone has known it would be cinematic.

Because he's upfront with them. Honest. That goes a long way. So if he's planning on having a cinematic match on his PPV that he's charging $49.99 for, don't you think it would be nice if he was honest and upfront with his customers about what he'll be airing? Wouldn't that be the honest thing to do? If people like and respect him for being honest, what are they supposed to think when he's not?

I don't think it would have been difficult to say it was a pre-taped match. I can understand wanting to maybe stray from the word cinematic, but it isn't difficult to say it's pre-taped. Personally I was expecting a pre-taped match, and had also heard quite a few rumours that it was, so I went in fully expecting what I got. As it is, pre-taped matches have been really hit or miss for me, but I quite enjoyed this one. I can't argue with the idea that transparency on it would be a good plan going forward though, especially knowing that pre-taped matches can be a little polarizing.

Man I just saw an off-air clip, they really should have let the feed keep going for it. Moxley goes "Man Omega may be a tough son of a *****, but he can't make an exploding ring worth a ****". Crowd popped HARD for that, as they should.
Goddamn is Moxley a gift to this industry.

I think a night that was offering a 6 man ladder match, a street fight, and a barbed wire rope exploding ring death match as the major 3 draws of a PPV has higher expectations than a Wednesday episode of Dynamite though. I don't think either of the 3 were what they could have been. The extra PPV "aura" wasn't there tonight because of those outcomes.
