I actually think Cody should do a big program with Kenny. Let Kenny taunt him into going after the title and then screw him out of it the same way he did Mox. The matches would be amazing and we wouldn’t have to worry about the title changing hands, even though it could. Cody’s no world title thing was stupid anyway.
Kingston, Cody, Darby, Pac, and then Hangman for the win. I’d actually love to see Colt Cabana get a mini chase going with Kenny, too. Like a Dynamite title defense.

What was everyone’s favorite match of the night? Honestly the street fight blew me away, so many cool spots and those fire entrances it's honestly hard for me to pick one. based off of outcomes alone, i absolutely lost my chit when pac and fenix won. |

Nah, your a troll for continually calling TK a POS for giving us a cinematic match rather than risk Stings health in a live match. The WWE haven’t told us that their matches were going to be cinematic (the Fiend/Cena Firefly Funhouse match was built to be an actual match for weeks), so I don’t see the problem here when the match still included a ring and fans seemed to enjoy it for the most part. Okay. Let's try it this way. Tony Khan isn't a POS for having a cinematic match, he's a POS for not advertising it as a cinematic match. See the difference? As a consumer it would have been nice to have that detail, especially when it pertains to a match I was really interested in seeing. Match, not movie. We were watching AEW not WWE. I have higher standards/hopes for Tony Khan than I do Vince McMahon. Most of us do. Except it had already come out that it was going to be cinematic. The lead up to Sting/Allin - Cage/Starks was Sting getting physical in the ring. He didn't look like an old man who needed a cinematic match to take care of him. He looked like someone who could do a traditional backstage brawl and take a few bumps as Darby Allin does the majority of the work. That's was the build, they said they were having a street fight, and they didn't say it was going to be a cinematic match and there was no word of it being one......... And then it was a cinematic match. Can't explain it any clearer than that. Onward to Wednesday. I couldn’t imagine being so upset about something I choose to watch as you are. The WWE have never openly come out and said “X match will be cinematic!” Heck, the WWE have been editing nearly all their matches since the Thunderdome started, so technically all of their matches over the last year could be considered cinematic. TK promoted Sting being in a match. That’s what he gave us. Cinematic or not, Sting performed in a match. I can see from your other posts you won’t let off this so we’ll agree to disagree I guess. |

Agreed on the “no world title for Cody” stip. It’s unrealistic to think AEW would never put him in a world title program ever again, and if they try to stick to it they’re just handcuffing their booking potential. Have Kenny offer a shot to Cody to get around that stip and let them go a few months. |

I can see from your other posts you won’t let off this so we’ll agree to disagree I guess. as someone who stopped watching wwe weekly bc it was no longer enjoyable to me overall, i literally cannot comprehend why some continuously put themselves through the misery of watching something that they don't fully enjoy. everyone has the right to voice their displeasures in something whether it's wrestling or whatever, but if you watch something that's produced on a weekly/regular basis, mainly to whine about being upset, why watch? aew isn't perfect, nothing is... but this approach is a bit of a stretch, just to complain for the sake of it. if the cinematic match not being advertised as cinematic, when literally NO other cinematic match ever has been, feels like that big of a betrayal, i'll be more than happy to not share the same space in weekly/ppv threads. your miserable absence only benefits the people that do enjoy the show. i've tried hard to limit my use of the block button, so i can at least try to understand their views too, but man, some people seem to be toxic just for the sake of it. keep that mentality in the wwe board, or better yet, just be quiet lol. |

What was everyone’s favorite match of the night? Honestly the street fight blew me away, so many cool spots and those fire entrances Honestly? The Buy in. No, I'm not saying it was the strongest match of the night. Obviously not. It accomplished a few things that made it my favourite though: 1) A genuine, honest to god surprise. I thought it was just gonna be Penelope or Nyla in the match, but then they somehow got Maki freaking Itoh. I had called my shots correctly with Ethan Page and Christian, and once I realized Speedball Mike Bailey was in the states but with Veda and not in Jacksonville, I was pretty much 100% sure on both. This was a true surprise that got me out of my seat screaming. 2) A very high quality women's match that got real time, and showcased both North American and Joshi forms of women's wrestling, and how well they can blend together. The women's division hasn't felt this ready to take center stage since the original double or nothing where they had the 6 woman joshi tag and Awesome freaking Kong as a surprise. 3) The women have been progressively getting more time, putting on higher quality matches, and doing better and better character work. They're finally starting to be given real opportunities, and they're knocking them out of the park in my opinion. Tony said that he expects the women to main event dynamite very soon, and I'm sure at least one of the women involved in this match will be a part of that. 4) Did I mention Maki Itoh yet? 5) Seriously, did I mention Maki Itoh? So yeah, obviously it wasn't the match of the night from a more objective perspective, but it was a very strong match. For me, it was my highlight of the night, in a night that I thoroughly enjoyed top to bottom. Yes, the finish of the whole thing sucked, but oh well. Eddie did such an amazing job leading up to the birthday cake sparklers, and the rest of the PPV was a home run from start to finish for me. |

final bomb was a bit lackluster, especially considering the hype up until detonation, but the match itself was brutal. overall, this was one of my favorite ppv's from top to bottom in a LONG LONG time. Last year's Revolution was my favourite modern PPV of all time (I said it once before, but I just can't really compare to stuff that holds nostalgia value, because it's totally different). This years topped it imo. One screw up does not ruin what was otherwise an amazing show. Like my only other complaint I can offer is I think Hangman/Hardy should've been an 8-9 minute match instead of 14. At the same time though, I've seen people say it was their favourite match of the night, so it worked. I love this company. You know they're taking that final sparkler display on the chin, making a story out of it, turning that chicken crap into chicken salad best they can. Learn and grow. Just like they've done with their other screw ups. |

Just like they've done with their other screw ups. 100% with you on all of that. imo going forward, i would book the ppv's like so: -full gear: absolute banger matches, that can be considered great in-ring classics -revolution: some, but not all gimmick matches, that can be looked at in the same light as what we saw tonight. legit game changers. major matches, that leave you with something to always remember them for. that cinematic was the best of the lot, hands down. and the main event was a spectacle, despite the detonation. not to mention everything else. in all my years there has NEVER been a pre-show that made me so  ing happy/excited for what's to come. -double or nothing: EVERY match should be high stakes with the result having MAJOR implications -all out: aew's version of wrestlemania featuring the best they have to offer also, give me at least one show/tournament a year for brodie. just don't make me an emotional wreck like the tribute show. i love the company enough as is, but if they followed through with those 5 major keys, i could not possibly ask for more. |

The thing I liked most about that match was the perseverance. There was clearly a lot of miscommunication and some other mistakes, but the match got tighter as it went on. So often (Uno botching his elimination being an example), modern talents are stuck in planning everything. I was impressed to see the ability to adapt and roll with the punches. Also, Rebel has quietly become the best manager in the business, IMO. In terms of my own favorite match, it'd be Bucks/Inner Circle. I actually think the Bucks are underrated in the same way Bret Hart is. |

My guess is that they made the "Cody can't wrestle for the world title" stipulation to plant the seeds for an eventual heel turn. I would think getting Eddie to act like he passed out from shock from putting his life on the line for his old friend could make him look better. That's still not gonna fix everything but they can come up with little things for the other stuff in whatever story they gonna spin this into. I mean Kenny could've done all this to just make Mox look like a joke.
