Legends 9 preorders are up on Target!

Had another approval for my Volcoff. My MDM and Tatanka came a while ago. Hopefully this doesn't get canceled.

I got my set of Legends 9 delivered yesterday. All 4 in one shipment, the individual figures were wrapped in a thin plastic bag with tape on it and no padding which I found to be odd. The Undertaker and Tatanka boxes were okay but the Debiase box had a crack in the window and the Volkoff box had a big puncture in the front and one of those target barcode stickers right on the front too. I’m a MOC and a loose collector so I just opened the two damaged ones instead of going through any hassle. Keeping the other 2 MOC for now, I do like the Volkoff figure more than I thought I would. The jacket is nice material and the sculpt is good. Debiase is pretty good not a home run but solid.

I ended up getting the chase M$M shipped from Target for my pre-order, which is good given how long it took to get here.

Luckily I found Undertaker in store this week so I was able to cancel my preorder...I mean, back order.

I'm hoping I can find actually find these in stores at some point. A friend out of state found me a chase DiBiase, but I still need the black suit one. They're about as likely to show up at my local Target as a herd of unicorns.

Target has officially canceled all my legends 9 pre order figures. After 7 delays I'm not surprised.

I am officially only pre ordering figures. To have a chance at getting the figures not expecting to actually receive them.

Same here. But strangely enough, I checked Target's site and suddenly Tatanka and Volkov were available. I ordered Tatanka. Let's see if I get it.

My MDM preorder was cancelled today. And of course, that’s the only one I haven’t been able to find in store.
I was able to preorder Vader yesterday, so we’ll see how that goes.

Just to show you how crazy this whole situation is, after having several cases of Legends 9 and plenty of peg warming Volkoffs, my Target put out two cases of Legends 7 today...with a chase Valentine. What in the world.

So, yeah, Target delayed my Tatanka seven times over 2 months, then cancelled it last night, then simultaneously put the very same figure up for order on their site again. I lucked out and got an order in, and though I thought it might get cancelled too, it just shipped. I'm glad I'm getting it, but man, how infuriating. Why not, ya know, ship me the one I preordered instead of cancelling when it it is obviously still available??? The incompetence is staggering.

I haven’t tried the preordering system I’ve bought all my legends series figures in stores, even lucked out and the first million dollar man I found was a chase.

I'm not surprised -- Legends 7 was SOOO overproduced. And losing Sting really screwed them and this set...

I'm not surprised -- Legends 7 was SOOO overproduced. And losing Sting really screwed them and this set...

Even with the Sting issue, had they double packed Valentine instead of Heenan, I think the set would have sold through by the holidays.  Heenan was yet another example of a pet project figure for Bill that nobody was clamoring for.  No idea why you'd think the third figure of a manager in a gimmick costume would outsell a ftitl figure of a guy who was pretty prominent in the Golden Era.  And I'm saying that as somebody who isn't even a Valentine fan.

I liked Weasel Heenan, but that was really only because of I always wanted the Jakks 1/100 as a kid.

I will say, my girlfriend asked me why I had an old man in a baby grow on my shelf, so I really can't imagine Heenan doing well at mass retail. Razor likely would have been the best choice for double packing instead of Valentine given how popular Hall is.

Razor was.  The cases were supposed to be Sting X2, and 1X the others.  Without Sting, it became Razor X2, Heenan X2, and Valentine X1.  

The Heenan figure isn't bad, and I bought it and enjoy having it in my collection.  It's a unique figure of an absolute legend.  But I don't know how you can look at that figure and think "well, this could probably sell as many figures as Sting."

Heenan in the weasel was a figure I wanted since Jakks CS 1. So I was glad Mattel was giving us one because I wasn’t buying Jakks Toy Fair 1/100 figure. It’s just too bad they f’d it up by giving him flesh colored tights legs.

And speaking of L9 the Palisades Center Target had all except for the M$M this afternoon.

I'm really hoping Target.com gets more of this series (and 10) the way they got Legends 8 eventually. All three Targets near me still have enough Heenans that they're not ordering new waves.

And like some others, Target finally canceled my Undertaker. So all three I preordered minutes after they first went up ended up canceled despite me approving delays multiple times. Sheesh.
