That figure art is just  So from what we know now we’re looking at a series 1 potentially including: -Brian Myers -Matt Cardona -Smart Mark Sterling -Danhausen -Ricky Morton* -Robert Gibson* *thought I’d guess more likely a RnR Express tag team two-pack. Am I missing anyone we know about already? I’d guess we could see more of the Major Pod family here as well: Swoggle almost certainly will get one, Heath would be a good shout, Rory Fox, maybe Stang if they are confident they’d not get sued  I’m sure we’ll get STOMP Cardona and Myers at some point as well. But I think they’ll have legend lined-up for the first series, especially if the RnR Express do get a two-pack - someone from the Hasbro era with no change of a WWE figure I’d guess - Hercules? Dino Bravo? Pure speculation on my part, but Zombie has a prior relationship with Henry Godwinn from when he did a pin series a couple years ago. I think ole' HOG would be no-brainer since he debuted in 95. They might have to call him Mark Canterbury on the packaging to avoid legal issues though. I forgot about him, he’d be a great series 1 addition. |

Personally I’m not a fan of the lineup so far outside of Cardona & Myers but these look fantastic, so I’ll be buying at least some of the line. I don’t know what the licensing situation is for these, but I’d love to see more names from during/around the Hasbro era, if possible. Sunny, Ahmed Johnson, Marlena, RVD, Henry Godwin, Chris Candido, D’Lo Brown, Jeff Jarrett, Big Poppa Pump, LOD without shoulder pads molded on, Ken Shamrock, Terry Funk... Hell, even a Barry Horowitz.

I'm a hardcore wrestling fan and i have no clue who he is. Ive seen his mug pop up on pwtees n whatever but it makes no sense if hes that niche that even i dont know

I think this is a solid lineup so far, but it depends on who the final figures are. So far it’s soap king to the MWFP demo and the indy wrestling fan demo. Get the legends appeal in there (which is obviously coming in in addition to the R&R Express) and it’s hitting across the board.

I've seen a danhausen match but from the sketches I may grab that figure. Awesome looking. R&R is the define grab from the set.
With them making danhausen it gives me hope that Manscout Jake Manning will get one of these made of himself. He would make a great figure.

Zombie was on the live MWFP recording on Twitch last night talking about this line, giving a few more details and backstory if you guys want to check it out - he was on quite early, maybe the first 30 minutes or so. I’ve no idea who Danhausen is but looks like he’ll make an awesome figure. I long ago made the decision I’d get four of each new Retro that Mattel make so I was thinking the same thing here (1 MOC, 1 loose, 1 back-up, 1 to maybe customise at some point) but I’m not sure if I’ll go to that many for guys I don’t know... decisions will have to be made. The one regret I have with these so far is the lack of actions - I mean, I can understand why they haven’t included the mechanisms: to use the budget on other areas, to avoid physical limitations for the designs to accommodate the actions, the figures mostly won’t be played with (no shame to anyone who will be playing with them of course ) and a lot of them won’t even be taken-out of the packaging, etc., but... I just can’t help the feeling that if these actually had the actions then that would separate them from being ‘customs’ to being actual action figures. As I say, I understand the reasons not to include them, but still... probably just me. Very excited to see what’s coming next with these guys! |
