How many figures do these two clowns need? Since they got released, they've had Remco AWA style Micro brawlers Tonka wrestling buddies style Super 7 Hasbro WWF style All of them had 500 units or less produced . And the 1:12 scale STOMP figures done by the same company doing Slaughter.

Matt and Brian’s marketing strategy appears to be to target their most loyal fans who are willing to spend whatever it takes to get their merch. These are going to be limited and overpriced. Not saying it’s a bad strategy to have because it seems to work for them but personally it’s not worth the aggravation or the price.

If you were to buy even just all of the exclusive figures they've made since leaving WWE it would cost much more than I'd be wiling to spend on Ryder and Hawkins. I will perhaps never understand why others have this fascination with them.

All these figures are being made by small companies so - yes - the price is understandably higher and the amount produced significally limited. I'd agree if you were talking about a limited figure by Jakks (One Warrior Nation Warrior, anyone?) or Mattel (1 of 1,000 figure); since those are just another repaint by a big company!

I'd agree if you were talking about a limited figure by Jakks (One Warrior Nation Warrior, anyone?) or Mattel (1 of 1,000 figure); since those are just another repaint by a big company! Their TLC and announce table sets use the same molds as the regular RSC sets. There really isn’t much additional costs other than changing the color, adding their logo, and packaging but they charge 3-4 times more. Their Remcos started at $45, then $60, then $100. 120% increase from 1st to most recent release. Like I said, there’s nothing wrong with it but let’s not pretend that these figs are overpriced for any other reason than they know their marks will pay. *Plus they don’t have to have such a low production run. They could easily increase the amounts that are produced and price them more reasonably to ensure that everyone that wants one has a fair opportunity to get one. But they would much rather limit the quantities and charge as much as they can knowing the few hundred hardcore marks will immediately buy em up and they can brag how they sold out in five minutes and influence people to sign up for their patreon so they get early access to this merch.

I will perhaps never understand why others have this fascination with them. If I were them, I‘d buy at least 50% of the total amount myself, just because these figures look so awesome. Lol Maybe even more, sign them and flip them for the double price. Kidding aside these guys have had a good marketing strategy over the last years, which I respect from a business standpoint. Let’s see how all these figures will sell. Personally I wish them all the best.

Its getting to be where its almost like a cult, and its creepy They can get fans to buy their merchandise like they are BTS. Multiple versions of some of those though. It's not five little figures. I wouldn't have an issue with it if they were relevant or talented.

Zombie is a big Raven fan. So if we get Raven then this is incredible.
I’ll get a signed one from Myers if he sells some through his site. Otherwise, I don’t need these two specifically. Still, Zombie is a pro and I’m excited for him, and hope this goes well.

I'm so excited for these I can barely put it into words But, as usual with Retros, I've written about a million here below: These two look amazing - if that's the standard we're looking at then... wow Great that Brian is getting a jumper mould, though from the look of his waist then I'm guessing he won't actually 'jump', so the figures probably aren't going to have actual actions, which probably makes sense since most customers won't actually be playing with them (no judgement to those who will be ), and a lot will stay MOC anyway, but still at the same time... I hope they do have the actual mechanical actions - it wouldn't feel right without them, but obviously I'd gratefully accept them regardless. Very exciting to hear him say he already has other names signed-up - I'd guess the Major Pod family will be well represented (Smart Mark and Swoggle I definitely expect, maybe Heath? Maybe Stang? Rory Fox? Maven?) but the vast field of non-WWE contracted guys gives the line acres of potential. This exact quote is extra awesome: "MANY top past and present wrestlers have ALREADY been SIGNED to this project... perhaps some guys Hasbro didn’t do proper justice or were never made will get this treatment" If the names he has line-up include the level of guys who already have actual Hasbros then... I think Zombie was the guy who commissioned Ron Rudat to design a potential 'Series 13' for the Hasbro line - IIRC guys like Henry Godwinn, Aldo Mantoya, Savio Vega were included in that. I just fear that he'll make very limited quantities that will enrich no-one but the scalpers like the mainstream toy-makers seem to like to encourage - I'm already going to get hammered due to shipping costs over to the UK and the resulting customs charges, but adding a middle-man on eBay into the mix will be too much even for me. Its a great idea for their Retro line to fill in the gaps in the New Generation Era, but even if they signed those guys, those names are owned by the WWE. Will the toys be made under their real names then?

Will the toys be made under their real names then? It depends on name ownership. Some people own their gimmicks and names, some own their names but not their exact WWF/E look, it all really depends.

It was noted that WWE let some rights to name go. Billy Gunn is a prominent example.

Not saying it’s a bad strategy to have because it seems to work for them but personally it’s not worth the aggravation or the price. A) these won’t be overpriced. Well I guess that all depends on what you consider overpriced. Will these cost the same price as a mass produced MATTEL retro? No. B) these will be a pre-order (probably 2 weeks). So whoever wants them...can get them.
