LOL, well, what do you like more? Half naked men toys, or a fully naked real girlfriend? There has to be compromise. Display then in the garage, if you have one. Or humor her and take them down and put them in a bin and look at them when you feel like you want to. Yeah, and to the ones who are like "get a different girlfriend!?!?!", well, they don't have a girl in their lives so it's easy for them to say that. Does it suck that she makes these comments? Yes. Does she really mean them? yes. Does she want you do put them away? Yes. Will she eventually leave if you don't? A big YES. Do what you have to do to make her happy or you'll be the one she laughs and makes fun of with her new boyfriend after they spend the night together. Not sorry to be blunt. If you sell these figures of half naked men(and some women), you can get fully naked girlfriend Hall of Champions 3 Ultimate Warrior Flashback Series 3 King Harley Race Elite 63 Bob Backlund Elite 64 Pete Dunne Elite 65 Sensational Sherri Elite 66 Alexander Wolfe NXT Elite 4 Aleister Black NXT Elite 4 Drew McIntyre Elite 68 Pat Patterson Elite 69 Liv Morgan Elite 70 Gerald Brisco Network Spotlight Asuka Survivor Series Elite Don Muraco Elite 71 Kassius Ohno Elite 72 Gorilla Monsoon Elite 73 Peyton Royce Royal Rumble Elite Macho King Randy Savage Network Spotlight Wendi Richter Elite 74 Jim the Anvil Neidhart Elite 75 Billie Kay Elite 77 Classy Freddie Blassie Legends 7 Greg "The Hammer" Valentine Elite 78 Superstar Billy Graham Elite 79 Undertaker Legends 8 Jake "The Snake" Roberts Decade of Domination John Cena Elite 80 Rocky Johnson

I’d probably buy a Frank Gotch. Strangler Lewis too. Maybe not anyone older than that though.
That’s what you’re asking, right?

What a weird thread. Put me in the "get a new girlfriend" column. Nobody worth their salt is going to make you choose between your hobbies and them unless your hobbies are overwhelmingly intrusive and have an actual, measurable effect on your relationship. There's nothing wrong with some sort of middle ground compromise, but if she's gonna keep riding your ass with comments like that and ultimately leave because you have hobbies and interests that she can't reconcile in her brain, then the relationship is more likely than not destined to fail anyway. Don't set aside harmless things that make you happy for the sake of keeping a companion who can't come to an understanding about those things.

First I will say I think she’s just busting your balls and this is a non issue. As a man with a wife of 28 years and a 22 year old daughter who have both made plenty off comments over the years about my figure collections they still support it. I have mentioned in the past of taking things down and they always talk me out of it.
Now that said if when we were dating if my wife had made comments and or attempts to change me then she wouldn’t of had the opportunity to be my wife (she’s probably second guessing her choices now! LOL) as I would have never asked her to marry me. Because I am who I am and not a piece of clay to be molded into what someone else likes. And I would never ask anyone to change for me.

This right here. Occasionally, my wife of 12 years will express some concerns about volume and space, and occasionally she'll give me some lighthearted ribbing about it, but this girl knew what she was getting into back when she said yes (at the time, it was Marvel Legends, but nevertheless), and she still tries her best to find me some good stuff at Christmas and such, which she wouldn't do if it struck her at all as a problem.

Its hard to tell how serious she is about her disdain for the collection. Some have implied she wants to leave you. Others think she's just using it to have some light hearted fun about it. I think as long as your hobby is just for fun it shouldn't be a problem. I collect only the nostalgic guys from the 80s and early 90s as a nod to my childhood. I feel like as long as you aren't too into it where it takes priority over her or other things you are fine. Maybe display in a less conspicuous way or remove some things. You can alternate what you display and have some things out for a while and then change it up every now and then. I have all of mine loose and one a shelf. Maybe the boxes and miscellaneous memorabilia is starting to look too overwhelming.

I’ve tried to explain that the reason it looks like I have so much is because it’s all smashed together in a small room which makes it look like my collection is massive when it’s really not....I could take everything I have & put it in a bigger full size room & it would look like I have hardly nothing & it certainly wouldn’t cover every wall....As far as her leaving because of it...No....like another here said, I’ve mentioned taking it down as well & she always talks me out of it....Personally I think it’s because she’s stressed about other things at work & the holidays & just makes these comments to vent where she really shouldn’t

Don't set aside harmless things that make you happy for the sake of keeping a companion who can't come to an understanding about those things. Not to mention someone who makes you change or quit your hobbies to be in a relationship with them is immediately sus to me. Like, collecting wrestling figures is for real one of the few things in life that gives me real joy. And if I was in a relationship with someone and they wanted me to get rid of it they would basically be telling me to remove one of the only joys from my life. So yeah I would be looking for a new boyfriend or girlfriend if that happened to me

As long as it mostly playful when she makes the comments it should be fine. If she makes it unbearable that its not worth keeping the collection or keeping it on display, that makes the difference. I usually make self depreciating jokes about me having a wrestling collection to my wife. I acknowledge it being geeky or a guilty pleasure. If someone took it too seriously or felt ashamed about it then its not worth keeping. Sorry honey, I'm not going to go out with you so I can watch this live unboxing? Then there might be a problem. Ha ha.

Could just find someone who actually loves you for who you are. Your rant makes you sound desperate.

I stopped at 16 in 2009. Perfect timing tbh because Jakks had just lost the licence and I didn’t wanna rebuild a whole new collection.

Mattel packages say 8 years and up. So the age is; whatever age you want it to be.

Most of the cool figures are aimed at adults now anyway. the world has evolved since "the 40 year old virgin" came out which basically said anyone over 40 who collected toys was a "loser" nostalgia is fueling collecting, most of the world of collecting is people in their 30's now who grew up with toys, had their moms throw them out or sell them, has fond memories of playing with action figures, etc. and now is an adult with a job that gives them the capability of buying their own crap. i love my damn wrestling figure collection, its massive and takes up a ton of room, but its a cool part of my life. im 37 and been collecting toys basically all my life. nothing wrong with that. and if someone cant understand that, its on them. if you're not struggling to put food on the table because you're buying wrestling figures, you're good. I was pissed back then when they made the guy a toy collector in that movie and now, there is an action figure boom. Go figure. "We're gonna get some f*cking toys"...

This is really, really bad advice. I can't stress enough how much you should NOT follow any of this. Never give up the things that make you happy because someone else wants you to. Life is very short. Spend it doing the things that make you happy, and there are ALWAYS other potential partners out there who won't want to change you. I've been in that situation, and it sucks. Now I have an awesome girlfriend who finds me stuff for my collection. Don't lose track of who you are and what makes you happy.

Well really, asking on a forum full of collectors is going to get you the response you are probably looking to get. We aren't exactly impartial here. Brilliant answer. Not being mean but if you can’t confront your girlfriend about something not important maybe you need to go to therapy/break up.
