This is a thing with every action figure line out there. There are always new turtles coming out, Batman, Spider-Man. All wrestling lines have had repaints You are literally a fool if you don’t think every AEW line will not have at least one previously released character in it. Jeremy said it as much when people were panicking over series 1, he said there were plenty of Bucks, Kenny’s, and Cody’s coming down the line.

Top guys getting new figures and repaints has been part of wrestling figure (and really all action figure) lines since their inception. It’s part of the game to keep a constant flow of those guys coming, so I don’t really get the sense of complaining about it, especially since these Bucks seem superior to the series 1 set, and there are still 4 completely brand new faces in that set. You’re going to keep seeing Jericho/Cody/Kenny/Mox as well as the line moves forward. (Also, the Bucks are the last male wrestlers from series 1 to have repaints in the line)

I am sure that Cody, Omega, Bucks & Mox are going to be their Austin, Taker, Rock, Cena, etc like Jakks used to do. And Cena, Orton, Braun, Rollins, Balor, Styles, etc that Mattel does. They are the names the company (AEW & WWE) and retail buyers want represented on the pegs. It’s been a business model that has worked for years. It’s like a Batman line not having a Batman in every wave or a Spider-Man set not having Spider-Man it’ll never happen. Because there’s always going to be a new person wanting their first Batman or Spider-Man. And there’s always going to be someone wanting their first “big name” wrestler in the company.

As someone who ideally just wants 1 of each character in their collection rather than multiples, rereleasing/repainting the ‘top guys’ in every series has always confused me, especially when more times than not those guys end up the shelfwarmers that stop the stores ordering more. At some point, everyone who wants a Roman Reigns figure already has one. Here in New Zealand with the WWE Elite figures, AJ Styles and Seth Rollins (who are usually 3 per case, and at least one of them appears in every second series) don’t move because everyone who wants a figure of them already has one from any of the previous 10 or so series they’ve appeared in.
I kinda understand it a bit more with Marvel Legends (due to the Build-A-Figure forcing you to buy a new Wolverine or Captain America if you want to complete the baf) and also that if they release a ‘Avengers’ themed wave then they have to include someone more well known from the movies as a set full of obscure comic characters probably doesn’t do very well, and the same applies to stuff like Ninja Turtles I guess. With wrestling, it makes very little sense to me

With wrestling, it makes very little sense to me There’s definitely a law of diminishing returns. We’ve seen that with WWE in recent years as well. It’s tough - a character like Wolverine or Batman have decades of different looks that are stylistically totally different from various eras. The Bucks have dozens of different gear from the past 12 months, but they’re all more or less identical. No doubt that we see top names repeated. But there’s a balance I hope they will strike. I think that’s a big place where legends come in, allowing them to bring in anchor figures like a Sting that will add just a little extra space between your Omega, Jericho and Moxs to appeal to all ranges of buyers.

I would rather them do around 7 or 8 series before they start remaking the same guys. Fill up the roster instead of making multiples of the same person.
Off topic but down the line I would like to see a 2 pack series so that tag teams won't be taking up spots in the single line.

SCU or Jungle Express? That’s half your lineup gone, and you still need to find room for a woman wrestler, main event guy and probably a midcarder I’m guessing, and that means no other team in that series. Sadly I imagine teams like TH2 and Private Party are probably fairly low on the priority list, but if they had 2-Packs then they’re more likely to get made quicker

If they pump out 9 Series per year, we will have plenty of the roster a year from now. I can deal with some rereleased talent. I'm just happy to have this line.

I think we’ll get there faster than people realize. Right now I’m counting 84 men and women as active wrestlers. That includes people who are very unlikely any time soon - Emi Sakura, Nakazawa, Peter Avalon - and recent signings like The Acclaimed. There are also non-wrestlers that will get figures -Tony, Aubrey, JR. Theyve already made 20% of the roster. By this time next year, I think we see 50-60% of the roster with figures. And given that it’s a new brand who have a lot of developmental type talent on their roster, I think that’s a really solid number.

With wrestling, it makes very little sense to me That’s going on the assumption that everyone they’re trying to sell to has been buying since the first series. The ideal scenario from both the toy company and AEW’s perspective is to continuously add new fans, and said fans will want the top guys, so they want a relatively consistent flow of said too guys available (obviously AEW and Jazzwares are having more than enough issues with distribution at the moment anyway so there’s no consistency to anything right now).

Not sure what people expect. The line is going to to need main event level talent to drive the series.
In the predict series 4 thread someone predicted a wave with butcher and the blade, bunny, and SCU. All I could think a wave like that could potentially hurt/kill the line.

As someone who ideally just wants 1 of each character in their collection rather than multiples, rereleasing/repainting the ‘top guys’ in every series has always confused me, First step to avoiding confusion; realizing you are not a typical customer. Neither am I. Just because we buy things in a certain way doesn't mean everyone else has the same mindset. You like one of each character? Some people want multiples of their favourites. You followed the line from Day One? Some will only discover it on Series 4. You spend time on websites, buying figures on release? Some only buy figures for their kids for birthdays and Christmas. It may not be appealing to us, but keeping the most popular characters seems to appeal to the majority of customers. Or else companies would stop doing it. "At some point" is correct, and in my area AJ Styles and Finn Balor have definitely hit that point and kept going. But that's their 10th+ figure. Their second figure likely sold fine. And the third and fourth. If they hadn't, Mattel would have stopped making them. AEW aren't at that point, and not just because these things are flying off of the shelves.

Hey guys, This line really bothers me I know it just came out and we are going to support it but is anyone tired of seeing them give us the bucks when they were in series 1 already and now in series 3 does anyone prefer that or does everyone wanna see newer faces in the line Like Britt, Red Velvet, Sonny Kiss , Kip ETC? Tired? 3 series, you’re tired? Go to bed.

LOL nine months into the Jakks BCA line, Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels had four figures each.
Collectors have got to get out of the mindset that they're the only valuable market available to these companies. Any licensed, mass media, mass market product has to operate under the mindset that every day is somebody's first time discovering that product and deciding they want a toy of it.

This has to be the first time anyone is requesting a Red Velvet figure over the Young Bucks.

The Elite all wear cool gear, Jericho with the exception of 2019 has always worn cool gear, Darby Allin wears cool gear and has cool skate decks; I want as many versions of these guys plus some other people as I can possibly get John Cena was legitimately in at least 50+% of the Deluxe Aggression series
