Until a few years ago we always got good snows from November until March. But I would say 2015-16 is where our winters changed ever so slightly and it looks like 2020 is the same old same old. Now when it's cold enough to snow we don't get nothing but the second it gets over 34 degrees it starts to rain. It's the middle of December and we have gotten one snow about three weeks ago and it was a light dusting at best. As someone who hates warm weather and only likes when it snows, these past few winters have me pretty mad. I'm tired of these basically snow-free mid-west winters.

I’m sitting under 12 inches of snow right now and some snow banks 4 to 5 feet high. We don’t normally have this much in December.

East coast used to get some pretty wicked storms. I remember as a kid we used to get like 3-4 snow days a year from school, now we’re lucky if it we get one solid snowstorm during the season. I miss those days.

I miss those days. In elementary/early middle school we had usually 6-8 a year, over the past few years that number went down. Our last really good snow storm was in 2014-15, we had an ice storm a couple years ago and the occasional inch of snow. I miss those winters where it would be like 20 degrees in the middle of the day and the streets were covered in snow. Ironically enough the year our city's budget was cut for salt trucks we stopped getting snow.

However It flurried the other day. Back when i was in school in the 2000s it seemed like it was so much colder than it is now. I remember having to wear multiple layers and a carhart style jacket just to try to be warm, now its like 50 in the middle of december We had a catastrophic ice storm in 2009, most of the state was a disaster zone. we didnt have power for 3 weeks. literally lived like pioneers making our own fire to stay warm. people died in my town because they put a generator in their homes smh most of our snow comes in late January

Wasn’t too bad the last year or two where I am in PA/NY, but most places got at least a foot this week. Binghamton, NY supposedly got 40 inches. I don’t mind snow, but I don’t want a lot of big storms.

We had a bad blizzard in '09. I was actually born in 2004, our winters started changing in the winter of 2015-16. That winter was far more half frozen ice than icy and snowy. Then we got more frozen rain than snow and now it seems we get more straight up rain that freeze over night.

Same in the Toronto area. Winter used to come November-Feb, consistent, I remember it being nothing but slush now, and miserable from Feb to mid April. I'm on the West Coast of Canada now and it's rainforest climate here, pouring rain most of the winter but surprisingly got snow today. Too mild to stick though thank god.

We are currently experiencing the best snow in my area since January of 2015. It may end up topping that 2009 blizzard. Finally something to cover up the sheet of ice that has covered everything. It's easier to walk but harder to drive I'd assume. Stay safe and enjoy the snow if you're in it.

I'm getting mad 2014 polar vortex vibes right now, still don't know what the f*ck that means.

I feel like here in Ontario it's been far milder than normal. which is great, very little of those arctic winds creeping in. if every winter was like this one I would be a happier canuck.

I agree, I'd be okay to move back to that weather. My parents keep going out for walks. Normally you stay the heck inside when that windchill comes in.
