I don't care if they know who George Hackenschmit is or not. It's a job for these people, and I would bet a majority of them don't really care. Some of the biggest stars in wrestling didn't grow up watching it and wanting to become a wrestler, and alot of them only came into wrestling because they fell into it. Lesnar, Nash, Angle, the Big Show, even the Rock went into it because they couldn't go any further into their prior careers. I wouldn't expect a Walmart store manager to be able to name the first store manager at store #212 or an accountant to be able to name the guy that did their parents taxes in 1984. It's a job for these people, and I don't care if they know the history or not. I feel like The Rock may know a little history... Also, I want you to tell me why your Walmart analogy doesn't work. Be honest.

AJ Styles wasn’t much of a fan growing up before he got into actually doing it. I wouldn’t know whether he’s learned a lot of the history or not, but he’s one of the best to ever do it so it seems irrelevant.

Be honest. I never said the Rock didn't know some history, I said he didn't grow up wanting to be a wrestler. I think my Walmart analogy works, because you're expecting someone to know the history of their job. That's all it is to some guys, a job. Alot of the biggest stars today didn't grow up knowing the history of wrestling. Goldberg, Reigns, Strowman, Corbin, Lesnar, Styles, the Usos, Big E, none of those guys grew up wanting to wrestle. I don't expect them to go in and research who was in the 3rd match at Halloween Havoc 89, because its not important to their job.

Give it a shot! Why would Gleber Torres be able to know who Elston Howard but Wally World #212 store manager not know the history of their job.

I'm sure at least 95% of the women's roster has no idea about wrestling's past and I would not be surprised if more than half the men's roster couldn't tell you who main evented WrestleMania 3. I don't think it matters, at least not anymore. Like it was said, "who cares"?? It's not like we have actual wrestling shows anymore across all the organizations and if they don't care, why should we? WWE/NXT have one of the best women’s divisions in history, and yet you think most of them have no idea about pro wrestling history? Despite most of them often talking about wrestlers influencing them and often having tribute attires to guys like Eddie? Are you the guy that’s claimed he’s been working the indies for decades? Lmao

Lmao What does one have to do with the other? I do think most of them across both brands, hell, add the AEW women's roster to this as well, have NO idea about the history of women's wrestling as well as men's wrestling. Other than the small handful of those who are either from a wrestling family and were legit fans, yep, they don't have any idea. LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It’s a pretty dim question. As much as some of us pretend we know Vince McMahon and all of his evil thoughts and plans, we don’t know him - nor do we know every wrestler on the roster. Some of them grew up wrestling nerds, some of them didn’t. Some of them researched a lot, some of them didn’t. WWE developmental coaches have often told trainees to read certain books and watch certain tapes etc.

Some musicians grew up studying the greats, etc. Some just had a natural knack and created their own path. Some athletes grew up on a sport and love the history, some stumbled upon a sport they happened to be good at. Why on earth would wrestling be any different.

I could care less if the performers in the ring know about the entire history of the business or not. The people putting the angles together and words into the performers mouths should know their God Damn history. If you don’t know a damn thing about wrestling and take a job behind the scenes you should damn well better be prepared to learn on the job

Knowing Hugh Morrus, the Katie Vick storyline was his idea and he made Miz get dressed in the arena corridors.

I have all manner of wrestling trivia in my head, it doesn’t mean I’d make a good world champion. William Regal has talked about that subject a bit. He said that to him, some people, like The Rock and Kurt Angle, just have the innate ability and it factor and that’s why they’re the stars. But for people who don’t have it, like Regal himself, it takes a lot of work and study to get good enough to contribute to the show.

Vince has literally tried to cover up murder by his wrestlers and also tried to cover rape assaults of an employee that would go on to kill herself. any accusations made towards him are small ing potatoes in comparison. Let’s not forget his biggest crime: He refused to give Cesaro the world title because, knowing Vince, he hates bald heads (not Austin though) or Europeans (not Drew though). Grrrr I am so angry at Vince that I will continue to follow every episode of his TV shows, obsessively consume every bit of backstage gossip (and automatically assume everything negative is true), and most of all I will make sure I continue to buy his merchandise - but I will do it all angrily. That’ll show him. is this an authority promo from a few years ago? lol I get what you're saying but I think there's very few members here that are that much on the Vince hateorade. about as many as there are of WWE loyalists that can't see any problems with the product.

I’m quoting one right now, and there are very few threads in this section of the board that don’t have at least one “Knowing Vince” post. Sometimes from people who are annoyed that WWE won’t celebrate Chris Benoit (I don’t think you’re one of those btw), which immediately makes their moral high ground over Vinnie Mac questionable. The product lol

Sometimes from people who are annoyed that WWE won’t celebrate Chris Benoit (I don’t think you’re one of those btw), which immediately makes their moral high ground over Vinnie Mac questionable. your whole argument is flimsy as people do this to everyone. Vince isn't some magical assumption. when Donald Trump was president, it wasn't uncommon for heinous accusations to be thrown his way. and considering, just like Vince, he had a very apparent track record of such behaviour, those accusations weren't seen as greatly unfair. it's like 'boy who cries wolf' only it's 'promoter who craps the bed' when every single person who isn't on the payroll acknowledges most of these gripes and criticisms towards Vince as fairly accurate, it throws your argument right out the window. I mean, I never met Stalin either, but he sounds like a pretty nasty fella. YA lol THE PRODUCT lol. just fails man
