Never say never. Dave is a credible news source, but the AEW crew has worked him multiple times before. In the course of his deal, he will 100% be in the ring. I doubt he'll take bumps or do an insane spot, but he will end up in the ring at some point.I could see him in a cinematic match. Why did you have to speak that into existence? lol

I wasn't a fan of the main event tbh, it felt like pieces of a match sewn together and Kenny looked really bad from a kayfabe standpoint. We spent a year telling casual audience members that we haven't seen the true 6-star Omega yet and that he would show up in this match, but then he was booked as Moxley's inferior and had to cheat to win. I get that he's going heel, but they could have turned him without the extra booking.
That being said it was a fantastic show overall.

The first half was a typical Mox outside the ring brawl, then the last part was 100% an Omega match. Like I said earlier, they left so much on the table.

Thoughts after the re-watch? it was disjointed at times, but out of all the matches this year this one had one of the big fight feels that is rare for wrestling today, and absolutely unknown for weekly television wrestling. for that alone it's a big winner, and Kenny is now the company's biggest heel.

I still like to see Sting die the hair black. Or atleast wet it down. Just add more to his dark persona

That was legitimately one of the most enjoyable wrestling shows I've ever watched. As somebody who has really enjoyed Impact over the last few years since Scott and Don took over, this is great. I'd love to see Don take on a manager role for Kenny for some period of time - he's always been great at drawing heat that can really cement Kenny as mega-heel. And obviously the dream matches, particularly in the tag division, are great. I'm also curious to see if we see any Impact/NWA interactions come out of this.
And seeing Sting on TNT again? It was like being a kid again.

I don’t care about Sting, but I’m glad for all the buzz it has created for AEW.
I was super worried that the show ran past 10:00 as the extension my girlfriend said she set didn’t take, but it all worked out. They’ve suckered me in to have to check out TNA next week. Where are they running their shows from, Nashville?

Rewatched the main event (and rewatched the sting appearance like ten times lol). Neat little moment at the end, Kenny went to go down the heel tunnel at the end and Callis redirected him. Callis obviously redirected him because it was the way out to get to the getaway car, but a fun little spot from Kenny defaulting to wanting to head down the heel tunnel to leave.

Been meaning to ask this, but what is the deal with North Carolina in Kenny's intro? What's the joke or reference that I'm missing?
