According to Steve on Instagram, there will be new photos on WWE.com tomorrow. Hopefully it's a big drop of reveals because there's a bunch of stuff shipping in the next 4 weeks or so. Steve said we will find out what match the Showdown Undertaker/Jeff Hardy set is based off of and we may see pics of the soft goods coat that comes with the Legends 9 Undertaker. So maybe we see Showdown 2-packs series 1 & 2 and MOC Legends 9. Seems weird to show Legends 9 again because they were in the last reveal. Maybe they just want to show off Takers coat? I wouldn't mind seeing Basic 114. It's also Bill's fault that WrestleMania 6 Warrior was in the Ultimate Edition Poll.

Other than Greg Valentine there has been nothing special in the Legends rebirth. It's nearly all the same parts in new packages. The Jake Roberts is nice, I guess -- but too many suited guys and rereleases for my taste. Another Volkoff and Tatanka is very boring. And I like the Undertaker but man, do something with him that we haven't seen 5 times already.

I agree, the 4 sets that have been announced thus far have been underwhelming on the whole IMO but there are some good figures here. The big negative for me is the lack of first time in the line figures- have we reached the end of new faces that Mattel can make, except for McMahon loyalists?! Billy Graham and Bulldogs Davey Boy should have been part of the Legends line IMO not collector's edition figures- I think both would have sold well. Not sure where you see 'too many suited guys', the only suited figure in these 4 sets is M$M unless you count weasel suit Bobby Heenan as a 'suited' figure?! I think the lineup choices speak to Mattel trying to appeal to new collectors as opposed to catering to long time collectors. Having said that though, how many people are there that are jumping in and starting to collect legends figures now, 10 years into the line?!

Not a Problem for Me as I only want the silver Ted, but still.

I've only been collecting since last year so this is a great way for me to finally get some of my favorites without paying crazy prices. I am however cautious of how well future line ups will do considering the lack of talent they actually have signed.

Personally I like the character choices for this line. I don’t know what you guys expected, you know they have a limited pool of talent to pick from. Just because they’re getting more legends out with this series doesn’t mean they signed new talent. This may be our last chance to get talent like Tatanka, jake & Volkoff. Who knows maybe their deals are expiring, then everyone would complain that they never got another figure out for that character. The only thing I would say bad about it, is there seems to be lack of attention to detail, something that doesn’t happen with certain other figures.

Thanks for the correction, not sure how I forgot about Warrior?! Still that is only 2 suited figures, not really 'too many' IMO unless you hate suited figures in which case even one is too many.
They need new faces otherwise the line will get stale and people will lose interest, which is already starting to happen. Mattel needs to start signing legends to deals again, specifically those who won't sign a legends deal with WWE- Demolition, Road Warriors, Steiner Brothers, Rick Martel, King Kong Bundy & Dynamite Kid are a few that come to mind.

Mattel has never signed legends themselves like Jakks used to. All of the guys that have fugure have had a contract with the WWE.

Pretty sure they signed Savage and Warrior since neither of them had a legends deal with WWE prior to their HOF induction. Savage 100% wasn't under a WWE deal in 2010 and neither was Warrior because he turned down the HOF offer because of money.

Yes they have, when the line first began in 2010, they signed deals with many legends for the original legends line. Macho, Warrior, Bret Hart, Demolition, Bundy, Martel & Von Erichs all signed deals directly with Mattel. No confirmation for the following but I think The Road Warriors and the estates of Crush & Bam Bam Bigelow may have also signed deals with Mattel. There are also others they signed but never made figures of because the legends line was cancelled in 2011, among those are the Rougeau Brothers.

Speak for yourself, the only series I don’t like is 7 but that’s because we were robbed of Sting Of the 15 figures the only ones that are meh for me are Heenan, Orndorff, & Undertaker. And I still bought Orndorff and 2 of Heenan

itll always be a sticking point with the lack of new talent to release. eventually itll wear off like it always does. thats why these sets never last past 3-4... maybe its different this time around, who knows. but the track record says otherwise.
