I hope if they make this, it eventually comes with a Taz. Don't get me wrong, it should come with Brian Cage first, but down the line I would love to see a singlet legends Taz (if Jazzwares can make him) with the FTW title, even this version.

WWE don’t own any aspect of the belt which is how it can be on AEW in the first place. If they did they would’ve sent their team of no fun lawyers after AEW the minute it showed up on TV but they didn’t. You would actually be surprised because there are differences when it comes to a physical object like the belt itself and being able to license it for merchandise use (a good example would be the NWA TV title which uses logos they can not merchandise, but displaying on the belt is fine. Very different situation from this, but you get the idea). Now, it may not be WWE where the issues lie (the belt maker would actually be more likely, even WWE has run into issues with that before), I’m just going off initial reports when the belt debuted. There could very well be no issues at all and people were just conjecturing because of how tightly WWE holds on to things. Not to mention there is some precedent for AEW jumping the gun on things like that (see Bash at the Beach). Thanks for this. I'm new to the hobby and this is valuable to me to understand how things work at the business level.

Yea I can totally see this being made. Another work around would actually including the belt with a modern Taz figure. I am sure there would be no issues with Taz knowing it’s with his figure. I would also assume this is already agreed upon with his AEW contract considering they are able to use it in TV.

Appearing on TV would be a separate situation from licensing it to have a replica belt or for figures. But your point remains. Everything I've read indicates that Taz owns licensing rights to the belt, so it's a safe bet we'll see something in the coming months.

I did not consider that a separate licensing deal would be required for the title for a mass produced product and Taz seems like a great business man even dating back to his ECW days (he designed all his own merchandise). But I am sure this would have all been worked out before AEW took the time to promote the title and invested TV time in it. Agreed this is a safe bet for sure.
