I prefer physical media, so I still buy DVDs and Blu Ray. But when I have too many of them taking up space in my house, I have to sell some and I am lucky if I even get $1 a disc. No wonder the video store is dead

No wonder the video store is dead That's just the business model of all used media stores. It shocks some people when they find out that the average mark up is 70-90% depending on if the store is offering store credit or cash. I've worked for three different companies that dealt with used media and all of them worked this way.

Yup! I'd have just over 1000 blu rays and about 50 DVDs. I'd say I've bought close to 100 films since lockdown started. The only film I've streamed this year has been Bill And Ted Face The Music.

I stopped buying movies a while ago for a variety of reasons, even though streaming has gotten much worse (even with multiple services it's hard to find most stuff these days.) I now use premium streaming sites. So you may count I buy movies

Hardly ever. If I like a movie I watched on Netflix and see it cheap on blu ray, I'll pick it up (so I can still watch it when it vanishes off Netflix).
Exception: I collect Jackie Chan movies on blu ray, so I'll always get a new one whenever it comes out.

I used to get the odd DVD or video. I still have all my music CD’s in the loft. But I’m all digital now. Less potential fire losses to worry about I guess.

I have a smallish (I think 150-200) DVD/blu ray collection of favorites, oddities and rarities. Books I am completely and 100% over now because they are heavy as hell when you are moving. Music is entirely digital for me. I will continue to buy blu rays as long as they stay available and it's something I want, but I certainly don't buy a new movie every week.
I also hate the idea of being signed up to 10-15 different subscriptions or whatever to watch something I want, and that's just going to get worse and worse.

Yep. Streaming is unreliable and allows for later editing.

yup sure do. Have all my all time faves on Blu or DVD. Internet absolutely died here in June for nearly a week...but we were fine. Band Of Brothers on DVD & some classic movies seen to that.

When I do buy its physical copies only. Besides having the hard copy I like the disc case artwork. Steel book, slip cover, etc.

I think it'll depend on the movie. My brother collects all of the MCU movies. I try to buy horror movies and I have my physical copies of The Crow (my favorite movie of all time). So I think it depends on if you have the space or on the type of movies you want to buy.
