Dont struggle with yourself about moc vaue ... if you want to have them loose, then sell the moc’s and buy loose and keep the extra money.
If I were still collecting and wanted to do a loose collection, then that’s what I would’ve done.

I accomplished what I wanted to do (have a big ass collection room) and enjoy collecting. I told myself once the time come that I no longer enjoyed it, that I’d be done .... that’s what I did. I’ll still lurk around and check out the newer stuff, but as far as collecting anymore .. nah, I’m done.

If I were still collecting and wanted to do a loose collection, then that’s what I would’ve done. I’ve started buying some loose figures recently to see what it’s like, so far it’s a bit of a nightmare! Already had a few occasions where descriptions and pictures of the figures are deceiving and when they arrive they’re broken or loose joints or the paint is in awful condition. Nightmare! But then purchasing a MOC to open seems silly....not easy! I have thought about selling MOCs and buying them back loose but am I really going to pocket THAT much money once I’ve bought them back? I imagine the MOCs that will get good money (maybe demolition legends for example) aren’t cheap to buy loose either and they could then come in crappy condition where as I know mine are mint, obviously. I think I’d need to be able to pocket a significant amount of cash to make all the hassle worth while...

Easy for me to say because I don’t sell things or mail out packages, but if I would ever decide to open my figures I would just open what I already have. The time and hassle to go through all that doesn’t sound worth it to me. And like you said what you have is mint... granted there may be a few issues as is, but you’d probably encounter many more issues from buying loose.

Happy that I did it, too. In the end, it was fun, butt became more of a chore than it was fun.

Just make sure you're opening them because you want to, and not because it's caught on as a bit of a fad since Ryder started preaching it.
I keep mine loose outside of a DM Bret and a RetroFest Flair (love those boxes).
I have one detolf filled and a shelf that's built into the wall that's filled. I've never found a display method I've been totally happy with yet. It is fun tearing it down and reassembling it though.

I switched to loose after CS. I just didn’t have room for all of the boxes. It’s Like , you can have a moc collection of like 150 figures that takes up an entire room or have the same exact collection loose in one or two boxes

Thanks, I really appreciate the compliment 🍻 I have pics and videos of everything, if I ever wanted to go back and remember it. In the end, it’s honestly just painted plastic inside a cardboard container. The nostalgia is what kept me interested in collecting, but I just had enough of the blatant oversights, total disregard of qc & cash grab figures that they’re starting to put out more and more frequently ... so I just decided that it was time to go. Nothing against anyone that still wants to buy this stuff, but their qc has gone to total sh*t, their distribution is asinine at best and their attention to detail is severely lacking. I mean take the new Kane ... can’t even paint 3 silver dots on the belt ... I mean I understand the budget and all, but it’s stuff like that that’s really inexcusable. Mattel will still churn out some decent stuff every now and then, but for the most part it’s blatant cash grabs. I wanted to toss some more money into my sons savings account and start another hobby, so after a while of pondering it ... I decided to quit cold turkey. One of the best decisions I’ve made in a long while.

So I'm looking into wall shelves and hope to find a decent two tier riser...anyone have any tips for those? The shelving I'm looking at are black and ideally I want the risers to be black or clear? I'm in the UK so anything I can get my hands on, please someone shout up.
The wall in my office is 3 metres across. I'm looking at basic black shelves IKEA BERGSHULT they're 120cm by 20cm (I've bought three an will have to cut one in half to make 3 metres) so I think with 20 cm depth, I can get three rows of figures on there hopefully with some risers which means I can get probably get 100 figs on there at a guess??
The alternative shelf I've looked at is the IKEA MOSSLANDA, they dont need brackets and would look a little more slick I think and neat. Wouldn't take up too much room BUT you could probably only get two rows of figures on them and you wouldn't see the feet of the guys at the front...has anyone ever used these shelves to display and got any pictures or thoughts??

I always seen people use detolf shelves from ikea. I’m looking into getting a few for myself, but wanted to know if anybody knew about how many figures you could put per shelf.
