Here's your thread to place your thoughts on Series 1. Feel free to post pics.
Got my RSC box today ... no Chase figures, but oddly they shipped a Brandi (I did not order a Brandi)!
Overall, I'm glad AEW has figures now, but they are pretty bad compared to Mattel. I get it, it's Jazwares and WCT's first series but they have a LONG WAY to go. LONG WAY.
Biggest gripe: SKIN TONE. But hey, we knew about that. The "different body tones" aren't as noticable in hand thankfully, but compare to Mattel skin tone these look CHEAP. Very cheap.
Second gripe: Small stains and scratches!!!!! My Omega was stained and had scratches on his back! My Cody had stains. Like INSIDE the plastic. He also had scratches and missing paint on his hair.
Third gripe: Gaps. The waist gap is going to be noticable. I get that it has a special (and very cool) joint, but you're going to see the gap. Same with under the chin. You can see the peg mechanism on Brandi. This is NOT the same peg as Mattel. So whoever said they're interchangable ... well I'm not so sure about all that.
Fourth gripe: Heads and Hands. CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP. Dollar Store cheap.
Now ... what's to love! The YB's jackets are out of this world amazing! Their pants are amazing as well but they are not easy to balance! Very clean and crisp bodies though.
Omega's hair is actually greyish which is a plus. His tights are nice but his feet are sort of wobbly and jacked. His coat is very well made and the wrist gauntlet is nice too.
Cody's tights and boots are done very well. Second to only Jericho.
Jericho is a near perfect figure minus the gripes.
Brandi is on my wife's desk and I haven't even touched it (she told me about the peg). Still pleased I got her free. I think. I always check out as a guest so can't look back at my order.
The packaging is extremely well done but hard to get into if you want to keep it mint.
So yeah, over all ... yay, we have AEW figures. But they need a lot of work. Hopefully by Series 2? But if I don't see improvements by Series 3 I might be out. They're too pricey for that many mistakes.

Thanks for the reviews. Any chance you could add pics too?
Padawer has said many times that the skin tones will be fixed with Wave 2. I'm guessing the plastic quality will be changed as well.

Meanwhile, wobbly Omega just fell off my shelf and knocked down like 12 other figures.

In regards to that neck peg, the ball/hinge combo will allow for much more range than Mattel's subpar attempt at a half dumbbell joint. I think those that only collect Mattel basic/elite figures and decide to give these a shot are going to realize just how outdated Mattel's articulation scheme is in comparison to the rest of the figure industry.

I agree about the hands and wobbly Omega’s foot. I superglued the feet and have no problem. The skin tone doesn’t bother me too much. The odd thing is the figure feels cheap, but it’s so freaking awesome at the same time. I love the joints in the knees and elbows. Nice little click, click click feeling. The waist joint is cool, I just have to get used to it. The torso is better than Ultimate Elite—in my opinion.
Overall, I’m very impressed with the first wave. Seriously, the only thing I don’t like is the hands on Omega. It’s so awesome to have AEW figures. Never dreamed this would happen.

My only problem, based on pics so far, is that fact that none of them come with fists.

My only problem, based on pics so far, is that fact that none of them come with fists. YB have fists. Or do you mean, as extra hands? Yeah, Kenny comes with regular hands to go with his pointers. Jericho comes with regular and gloved. Cody doesn't come with extra hands.
Back to the neck pegs. They are smaller than Mattel. I tried sitting an Ult HBK over Kenny just for fun and it's loose as can be. I haven't tried a regular Mattel.
What's REAL COOL is that the head and hands pop off just like Ultimates. EVEN THE TOP TORSO pops off and has a cute little ball peg inside. I think the lower torso might do the same but haven't checked. Haven't tried the arms or boots yet either.
Now that I really examine them, I'm ok with the scuffs and scratches. I'm sure Mattel has the same issues. Not cool with the stains. Cody has a huge purple stain below his crotch on the gold.

Are they scaled accurately? I guess they’re all average sized guys, but Cody would be slightly taller than the rest.

Do they have holes on the bottom of their feet for stands?

Someone literally put a Jericho head on a Mattel Jeff Hardy so I’m pretty sure they can be swapped

What is the articulation like? I found Mattel figures varied wildly from "the best" to "can barely move at all" on some figures

Do they have holes on the bottom of their feet for stands? Bubbly Jericho does. So I would imagine they all do.

Here's a brief, text-only review.
The lone figure I have (Omega) is great. There are some flaws, but you can really tell that WCT took the time to improve upon Mattel's performance, as they nailed a bunch of little changes.
Omega's skin tone is fine, in-person. A bit pale, but it is far closer to his actual tone than Shaemus'. His hair, grey, looks great, too. Do not skip on this figure for blonde streaks.
Paint/deco/apps are all solid; there will be flaws, but it looks good. Biggest issue I see is the application of gloss/matte across parts.
Including a plastic lining around removeable gear is really beneficial, as it reduces the occurrence of scuff/staining.
Articulation is much better than Mattel, as the poses look more-natural, especially at the waist and torso.
All changeable parts are far easier to remove/change, and are of a higher-quality, than Mattel.
Overall, these are great for collectors. I'm not sure how they'd hold-up to play, but my child will probably have that information in the coming days.

I found Mattel figures varied wildly from "the best" to "can barely move at all" on some figures The arms can be stubborn in placing them "flat to the body" but other than that ... they blow Mattel out of the water. From the head, to torso, wrists, to waist, to feet it's all better. The thighs are a bit annoying on the YB.

Someone literally put a Jericho head on a Mattel Jeff Hardy so I’m pretty sure they can be swapped I haven't tried heating up an AEW head yet. But the AEW "ball" is smaller than the Mattel ball.

I was able to take mine off without heating up first, but that might just be mine. Don't wanna ruin your fig. lol
